Hello please help!! My husband is just turning 40 and has just admitted he feels he can't get away with the black jean and surfy t shirt combo he's been sporting since his 20's!. He's a senior teacher and tho he doesn't have to wear a suit a tie, really needs something a little less casual than the above. Not sure how he's got away with it for so long!!

Ideally he needs something simple, comfortable and casualish that will suit his job and age. He looks good in loose fitting cords but at a fairly stocky 5ft 8 he finds it hard to find any suitable!!!

Any suggestions would be very much appreciate thanks!

I think jigsaw are starting to do menswear. Might be worth a look?

If he needs some ideas, the street style blog The Sartorialist has featured some very stylish men.

Casual button down shirts w/ a pocket?
A Blazer to wear with his jeans?

We purchased a blazer for my husband in Banana Republic and women started chatting him up left and right -- one had the gall to tell him he scrubbed up nice now that he was married.

What about blue denim, a shirt and a blazer or some other kind of jacket?

Or a long-sleeved top/t-shirt? DH has a couple of these from Fat Face, and they have a sale on atm.

Mirpuppet that has made me laugh out loud! I wonder if it would make such a difference to my husband!! I'm taking him to the shops tomorrow much to his disgust so I shall bear all these suggestions in mind! Smile

ah... ok, tight budget.... in that case, I would join quidco, and sign up for the Gap 30% off things. Also if you register at Gap, you get 15% off your first order. Then button down shirts, slim chinos, casual jackets
