I have a weekend coming up away with my DH. Am looking for glamour and romance.....to look fab and feel it too. Am unsure what weather will be like. What are your suggestions for packing???? Am so used to packing for 3DC and having minimal space for my own stuff I can imagine I will arrive with raisins, hand wipes and crayons rather than kitted out for a city break!!!!

It might depend on where you are headed? Smile

The things that make me feel glamorous on a weekend away are:

nice lingerie (including nice stuff that will work under the clothes you are taking)
at least one pair of heels for evening
at least two nice outfits for evening
skinny jeans/slim fit trousers
blow dryer and straightener, with kerastase serum
ridiculous amounts of makeup
bottle of veuve
perfume
good quality, scented body moisturiser
bikini (if there is a pool or spa)

plus all the prep work really counts too eg getting a bikini and eyebrow wax, doing a home mani and pedi, fake tan ... HTH. Have fun!

prep prep prep!because hopefully you won't be needing too many clothes Grin

Ha ha ha! That's made me smile!!!! Have booked nails and wax the day before. Do you know I would have forgotten my hair dryer and stuff without the mention. Shows how years of kids leaves you able to prepare for anything with small children but would leave me with wild wild hair which defeats the aim of glam, groomed and gorgeous .....ha ha ha!!!!

Deffo depends on where you're going/what you're planning to do.

I'd take my Vivienne Westwood Anglomania dress because it folds up small and doesn't need ironing on arrival. I'd wear that in the evening with nice undies, stockings and heels.

A small bottle of lovely bubble bath (maybe Molton Brown) and maybe a nice candle for the room.

I'd make sure my toe nails were painted.

Oh and one of those tiny bottles of Frizz Ease serum.

Walnut that's a great list and I am committing it to memory as we speak esp the veuve.

Am going to new york. And it will be a surprise for my husband as he thinks he is going to a hotel in Edinburgh!!!!! First time leaving the UK in years and years. Now dragging out underwear to see if it passes muster and googling dresses for good evening outfit.........

Oh wow, lucky DH! And lucky you too!! Have an amazing time :)

check the weather before you pack -- NYC can be very variable in late March - April.

You will have a fantastic time! Enjoy.

Comfortable but nice looking shoes for daytime, as you'll probably end up walking for miles!

Thought I'd have a peek for inspiration as dh and I are off to Seattle without our 6 kids!!! I can't quite imagine how it will be to have a romantic, child free break Grin I haven't even flown anywhere for twenty years, whereas he goes off all over the place on business trips.
I'm currently trying to decide whether or not to buy some "boudoir" bits & bobs - I have a feeling they'd last 10 seconds!
