Need ideas for a dress

I am in need of some help, am due to go for a girlie city weekend with 3 others in a few weeks time, no problems at all with daytime outfits but am struggling with what to wear out at night. The evening will consist of dinner followed by drinks at a trendy cocktail bar. So far all I have got are some black patent platforms (but even these could be ditched), will need a dress as restaurant looks rather dressy but will need to fit in with cocktail bar too. I am 5.4 size 10 pear shape, not sure if helps to say am in my mid 30s. I would appreciate any recommendations for a dress and a whole outfit would be even better! thank you

I am a similar size / shape / age to you and I would probably go for something with a high neck with a slash or boat neck fitted at the waist then into an a-line skirt with a bit of a flare. I'd probably put a blazer over the top and maybe wear it with a scarf.

I recently brought this dress which is probably the sort of shape I mean. I wouldn't recommend you order this one though as it's 100% polyester and static as hell. I'm looking into having it re-made in nicer fabric.

Oasis have some lovely dresses at the moment in this style

What about this one www.asos.com/ASOS/ASOS-Sexy-Pencil-Dress-with-Pockets/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=1840978&cid=8799&Rf-200=1&sh=0&pge=1&pgesize=20&sort=-1&clr=Red
I'd already bought one of these in black but after seeing the red one on here I bought that as well. I think you can also get it in blue too. I love it - the only problem is it can be a bit booby iyswim :o

I just bought this dress. Much nicer in rl than in the pic. I am wearing it to a family dinner tomorrow - with red heels. It is a fine fabric, and I will be wearing it in Spring and Summer too.

I am 5'9" and a 14 - so not at all the same body shape as you - but I think it would flatter anyone.

Personally being a fairly short pear I wouldn't wear the dress that Blu linked to.

thanks, not really loving any of them though as they wouldn't suit my shape. will keep searching.......think i need something fitted on top and slight a-line shape to the skirt to balance pear shape. Also have bingo wings to disguise if possible.

I saw a beautiful dress in a boutique today, it was navy jersey material with little pleats around boobs, some detailing under bust and it was heavenly. swishy skirt, not too dressy but not plain Jane either.

Sadly it was far too small for me but it sounds like it would suit you OP.

Cant link to it because they dont do online. Where in the country are you?
