Longer length cardigan

WhenDoISleep · 15/03/2012 14:08

I'm looking for a longer length (mid-thigh say, I'm 5ft 4in) to use as a cover up for cooler spring/summer days.

I've had a look online but haven't seen anything that looks right and I wondered if any of the lovely S&B ladies had any recommendations.

Next have some - coral, tan and black I think.

What size are you? I quite like this one, but there are only size 10's left.

The Phase 8 one looks lovely - unfortunately it won't go near me as I'm an 18.

I had a look at the Next one as well -I'm not sure if the shape would suit me tbh as I'm an apple.

I will also be wearing it open as I hope to be carrying DS2 in a sling, once he makes an appearance next month.

Hope the link works, on phone. Otherwise try "OPEN FRONT LONG SLEEVE RIBBED OBLONG CARDIGAN" in m&s site.

WhenDoISleep · 15/03/2012 17:24

The M&S one looks promising - how long is it in reality? On the site it looks bum length on the model, but I'm guessing she is at least 6ins taller than me.

SleepyFergus · 15/03/2012 18:18

I'm 5ft 6 and find the M&S one is longer than bum length. The sides dip lower but not too long. It's v handy and keeps a good shape for a couple days continuous wear before needing washed again (find it goes a wee bit baggy on the sleeves, esp if you push them up a bit). Washes well and dries quickly. Worth ordering one too see what it's like?

WhenDoISleep · 15/03/2012 18:58

Thanks SleepyFergus I think I will order one to see what it fits like - it does look like a nice style.

southeastastra The Zara cardigans that you linked to look nice, but look to be a little thin - I will be near a Zara over the weekend so I will try to pop in an have a look in person. I have never bought anything for me from there though - always assunmed that my size was against me.

I'm a 16 and a s/ m fits fine. Will either be perfect shape or pia shape. Also some hip length ones in h&m.

southeastastra · 15/03/2012 20:50

i'm a 16 and the L fits me in zara, though it is hit and miss! shame really as they're missing a market for up to size 20 imo

SleepyFergus · 15/03/2012 21:00

Zara annoys me - nice stuff if you are skinny, tall and leggy. Not the average UK woman! But you can often find a gem in there in reasonable sizing amongst all the teeny tiny stuff!
