Love, classic but so expensive. And prices increase each year. I've never seen any outlets or bags on sale, do they ever reduce prices?

I can only look at their perfume and I have NEVER seen it reduced or on special offer.

I can't speak for the present, but growing up, my mother was a huge Chanel fan and mostly purchased he Chanel clothing on sale and am pretty certain it still operates in the same way - they have a sale twice a year, although I don't actually think the handbags are reduced. There is no outlet, no factory seconds and if anyone tries to tell you that they got their bag from the latter, it's a fake, albeit an excellent quality one.
(Girl I used to work with was adamant her bag was a factory second. No such thing.)
The sale is usually only held for one week but again, it might have changed now.
Louis Vuitton operates in a similar fashion. Clothing occasionally reduced, handbags, never.

basically the only way to get a discount is to work for them!

I second sansucre, Chanel did have one outlet store at Woodbury common outlet in the states but that is now closed and rarely had bags anyway was always past season RTW. I'm afraid Chanel goes into the same category as Vuitton and Hermes, no chance of classic in the sale so one of those things you have to bite the bullet and pay full price for. I'm a bit of an addict when it comes to designer shoes and bags and have definitely noticed prices rising exponentially!

Thanks ladies, yes the channel timeless classic is going up 20 percent a year! My friend bought one years ago for £800 now £2675!

I think tax free airport purchase p,us saving up lots is the only way for me ....
