I am fleabaying some right now - no-one has bid and only 15 mins to go!!

I changed my mind on a wedding outfit and these don't match but I missed the LK Bennett returns deadline. Not worn, receipt included.

So they are at a starting price of £140.

I am a real mumsnetter and I post lots and I know all about pom bears and naice ham - honest I am real!

I am sure you are real but I won't risk an ebay buy for such a small reduction. Your starting price is waaaay to high

Pagwatch · 14/03/2012 13:23

Hope they go though Smile

Bellstar · 14/03/2012 13:27

£140-you are having a laugh arent you!!Shock

actiongirl1978 · 14/03/2012 13:28

Pag - you think I have overpriced?! Wow, I thought I had underpriced - I had a couple of messages and people were asking if I was selling real ones. They are brand new in box with sticky thing on the soles and the receipt.

They didn't sell - you think I should put a lower start price instead?
Be v grateful for your opinion - we move abroad next week and I want to sell them and buy something else before we move!!

Bellstar - they were £185 new and I only got them 6 weeks ago and they are completely unworn. I feel such a fool for not returning them in time and my husband is a bit Angry

dodgyroots · 14/03/2012 13:31

Do they still sell them in the store - if so would they not exchange them for something else at their current selling price - that is what they would probably do if you had lost the receipt...

actiongirl1978 · 14/03/2012 13:33

Dodgyroots - the thing is there is nothing else I want in the shop! Darn. I have relisted for £110 with a buyitnow at £165 and in the meantime I will do another sweep of the LK Bennett website.

I sell everything with a starting price of 99p. That includes designer items worth 100s.
If you are nervous then put a reserve price on.

If I can afford to go and spend £180 on shoes I want to walk in the shop, try lots on, have a coffee afterwards and put them in my wardrobe.

To make me chose eBay with no choice of colour, not opportunity to try them, waiting for the postman plus all the risks associated with non delivery, faulty items etc - well £40 off wouldn't tempt me.

Yes. I would start lower or start cheap with a reserve price.

MargueritaaPracatan · 14/03/2012 13:36

Some sold recently for £124, 29 bids and a start of 99p, people like the thrill of the chase so that's the way to go...and finish on a Sunday!

actiongirl1978 · 14/03/2012 13:38

Thanks Pag and Marguertia - I may well do that instead. I had 21 watchers so lots of interest just no bites!!

Remember though, some people have wodges of cash in their PayPal account to spend and will often pay over the odds, because it's not 'real' money.

actiongirl1978 · 14/03/2012 13:53

Right then ladies, thank you for your advice. I have called the store and they have said they will exchange them... and I will make myself find something I like - even if it is a couple of pairs of ballet pumps or a belt and a scarf... better that than losing £££££!

Thank you for all your sense and reason.
Ps. I do have a brain... why I didn't think to ring them before I have no idea....

Excellent result [smoke_]

Not smoke. It was meant to be a smile.

Image of Pag, cool as a cucumber, laying back, eyes partially closed, lighting up and taking long draw... satisfaction at another happy customer...

actiongirl I recently sold a pair of PRada shoes (yes, they were real, included box and shoe bags etc) and only got about £50 for them, so your LK B ones I doubt would get upwards of £100.

Pagwatch · 14/03/2012 14:02

Right on....

MargueritaaPracatan · 14/03/2012 14:04

Ah, good result!

jollyoldstnickschick · 14/03/2012 14:05

if you exchanged for something else and returned those within the returns time ....would you get a refund then?

actiongirl1978 · 14/03/2012 17:40

Not sure Jolly. I suppose I can give it a go. Its a bit of a trek to my LK shop though and with toddler in tow involves much bribery to behave in pristine shoe shops!!

Thinking of just getting a nice pair of flat shoes to wear with jeans or a pair of wedges. Most years I love the LK stuff but this year I think it looks really frumpy. Not even a nice summery dress.

OP posts:
taffila · 14/03/2012 21:32

or ...you could splurge on a the Davina dress - would "only" cost you £40 Grin

Heswall · 14/03/2012 22:23

Or if you get really stuck I would buy the credit note off you there is l;oads I want from LKB

actiongirl1978 · 15/03/2012 17:51

So the story ends with Actiongirl walking out of the shop with a pair of lovely harper snakeskin court shoes chuffed as anything that I now have shoes to match my coral dress. Thank you everyone!
