To get off a stain of biro from a suede cloth, first, establish if the ink from the biro is gel based or not. Then, wipe off the ink with methylated spirit (for non gel ink). If the ink is gel based, use pure acetone. Dip a ball of cotton in the solution and wipe the stain before using white vinegar.

I googled that for you :) Now, do you know anything about Moroccan Oil? Grin

Ta v much art. Have discovered since (shamefaced) that it isn't biro! No idea what it is, will just suede brush it and see. Will keep the above info in case of future mishaps.

Re moroccan oil, have no experience of it but it seems v popular and expensive! Googled it Wink looks like it's for thick, damaged hair. My hair is fine and flyaway, so prob no good for me. How about you?

I just had a go with the MO and it was pretty good! Just thought I'd ask as we both started threads at the same time :)

Have you got a rubber suede brush? I think Uggs are a bit delicate for metal - I always use rubber or sometimes even the brush from the dustpan and brush.

Great stuff re MO. Do you look like you've just stepped out of a salon? (unless ur 35ish, that won't make any sense) Smile

Well it isn't biro, it's actually a crack/rip in the suede!!! It disappears a little with brushing but goodness knows how I got it. Prob caught it on levers in car/footbrake. Who knows? Typical, my black ones are looking ropey but the chestnuts were holding up OK. I did spend 2 years deliberating over the cost of Uggs and when I finally give in, I ruin em. Typical, that's me all over......keep on swishing your hair, I may give MO a go.

I certainly do Perma (thats exactly how old I am haha)

:( at your Uggs. I think some pairs are stronger than others given how I've seen different ones behave over the years. I've got a black pair that are nearly through after 6 years when the chestnut ones that are the same age are still going strong depite me doing construction work in them since Xmas. The soles will die before the suede on those ones.

Someone had a thread not so long ago about splitting Uggs. Their toe was going through them. There was some advice on there which might help. I believe one person had had a cobbler stitch them. Where is the rip? If its on the side or somewhere that doesn't get a lot of contact or tension then I think a repair could work well.
