How can I stop getting spots?

Still get spots on my chin, and am 33, have had them for years!
I'll get one then just as it has gone and I think 'yay, no spots, I can wear lipstick!' I get another one. And as I get older they take so much longer to go. They are the deep inside, massive red painfull bump sort.
I use clarins fash wash stuff (have done for about 5 years) which is better than other stuff I've tried. I have also started taking evening primrose oil (for PMT), I think it has improved the overall look of my skin but still getting the spots.

Hormones - are you on the pill? Have you tried a lower carb / low sugar/ balanced blood sugar approach?

AHA's - proper acid peels, or at least decent alpha hydroxy acid preps - start with a Paula's choice type 5% AHA moisturiser and work up to a Bravura London 30% weekend peel?

Or just a BHA toner, say 8% (Paula's choice)

Are they really bad multiple cysty type? Would you consider roaccutaine or is it not that serious?

That's the main points that spring to mind...

If you've never tried a combined pill like Dianette I'd start with that tbh

birth control pills

Oh, they aren't really that bad individually, just one fairly normal spot at a time and sometimes a week or two in between. I'm just fed up with never quite having grown out of them! I'm on the minipill - can't take the combined one.

me too. my chin thinks it is 13 again. doesn't help that it also thinks it is a bloke and wants to grow a big beard.

so i pluck the hairs, then get zits. despite giving it a dousing in skin stuff after the plucking.

can't take the pill either.

I also have three or four beard hairs that always make spots.

I have skin like yours but I've just discovered Avene. It's fab, I use the face wash, spritz and Cleanance K and my spots are clearing up and my skin is looking normal! It doesn't make it all red and irritated like other spot clearing things I've used.

I'm really impressed with the results so far (4 weeks)
