Horrific varicose vein on shin - treatable or a summer of maxi dresses and wafty linen slacks?

Gestating darling DD has left me with a 5 cm horizontal purple worm on my shin. Yum, thanks darling x
Its not a good look and means that my summer wardrobe of flippy skirts for work/shorts in the garden etc is not really going to flatter.. I cannot think of a single summer look that I like that doesn't involve at least a bit of shin... So either I need to have my blinkered fashion horizons widened... or I need my vein vamooshing.. is this even possible?!! I am a no too bad size 10 but fairly short if that helps with the wardrobe suggestions.. but TBH would prefer it if someone could tell me of a magic varicose vein cure?! Please??

lie on your back, legs straight up against the wall (make a right angle)
combine just resting like that (read a book)
and rotating your ankles clockwise and anticlockwise
also slide your feet up and down the wall
basically leg exercises with the valves in your veins under the opposite to normal gravity
lots of ideas in yoga and pilates exercises

Once you've got a varicose vien there's no miracle cure but they can be treated by foam injection. I've just had a humdinger of a vein treated this way and the results are fab.

Downside is that vein treatments on the NHS are in the process of being limited to only those that are significantly disfiguring/very long/ulcerated etc. You would need to see your GP and ask to be refered to a consultant, who will decide if you can be treated on the NHS. Obv the treatment is available privately too, but not sure of the cost.
