do they roll down, am considering as haven't motivated myself enough to go to the gym in forever Grin. I was looking particularly at the high waisted shorts type ones, (Beyonce is a fan alledgedly)

No, they are truly amazing! Don't roll or leave unslighty marks. Bit of a nightmare to get at first, lots of bending and squatting to get it all to fit but so worth it. Makes everything smooth and surprising firm and snug.

And disregard the handwashing instructions. Mine go in a 40 degree wash, no bother!

shreddedmum · 12/03/2012 18:57

what about going to the toilet once tipsy ?

SleepyFergus · 12/03/2012 21:20

Mine have a slit in the crotch, so you can wee through them. Not great, but doable. Depending on what I'm wearing, I would usually just pull them down though and only use the slit if I absolutely have too!

Marking my place as i've been thinking about getting some, do they actually make your tummy look smaller/flatter?

OliviaHappyBirthdayMumsnet · 12/03/2012 22:11

They are BRILLIANT
(usual MNHQ disclaimers apply, natch, but I won't be without mine for a special occasion)

SleepyFergus · 12/03/2012 22:22

Kate - Yes!!!! I reckon it takes you down at least half to a full dress size. Defo makes your tummy flatter. It creates a smoother silhouette for sure.

4ForksSake · 13/03/2012 09:28

Which Spanx would everyone recommend?

Hopefully · 13/03/2012 09:53

I have the ones that go from under bust to halfway down thighs and they are fabulous. Eliminate cling, flatten and smooth, generally amazing.

BloooCowWonders · 13/03/2012 09:55

agree with hopefullly re style. The usual 'hold-it-all-in-pants' you get in eg M&S are just not in the same league.

SleepyFergus · 13/03/2012 14:58

Me too - I also have the under bust to mid thigh one. Wonderful!

PS. Don't freak out when you take it out the pack. They look tiny (think toddler) but they will stretch. Takes a bit of limbering, squatting and stretching but they do fit!

4forkssake · 14/03/2012 11:37

Are these the ones you'd recommend?

I find they do roll down on me. I like the ones that attach t your bra strap.

4forkssake · 14/03/2012 11:50

Can you get Spanx that attach Lucy?

LucyManga · 14/03/2012 12:51

Yep, but not the cycling short-style ones, the body-shaper knickers - here

They are good for tum and waist, maybe not so much for bum and thighs, obv.

I love them, though.

4forkssake · 14/03/2012 20:02

Thank lucy. Will look at them too. It's definitely the waist & tum that need the most help (the others also need the help but can't be seen in the dress I'm wearing Grin

KateSpade · 14/03/2012 21:34

£63.00, blimy last time i looked at them, a few years back now they weren't that much, not that i needed them, then.

I am desperately trying to get my tummy back, i know it'll probably never be flat as a pancake, but my god, its terrible...

Whats it like Wee-ing in them? I'd probably only wear them on nights out, difficult when drunk i can imagine?..
