Stylish supportive summer shoes.

Please help me find some supportive summer sandals and shoes. I have high arches which ache in unsupportive flats and flip flops, I am pregnant (so am putting on weight and avoiding heels), and I walk everywhere. What can I wear apart from Birkenstocks?

Have a look at the FitFlop sandals?

faustina · 10/03/2012 11:38

they do fitflop ballet flats now, but they are a bit pricey

Clarks have a few not-too-grim styles.

OK, thanks. I had hoped to avoid Clarks, from prejudice mostly. I will check them out.

lol! I know what you mean. What sort of style are you hoping for?

Open to anything - I need all my summer shoes! (Tbh there will probably be a pair of Birkenstocks in there somewhere)

Clarks was as I feared. The only one I liked on there was their Fitflop rip-off. I'll get the original I think.

What do you think of these Camper ones?. I know they have a small heel but it looks copable-with.

Right, well, I go for the following:

'Summery' Converse for park trips etc

Something sparkly that goes with everything

Something properly comfoy although not uber stylish - i admit I do like Ecco!

There are so many nice ballet flats and those slim, tan tassle-loafers about at the moment, which are very trendy, but they kill my feet.

RedFlagFlying · 10/03/2012 12:11

Camper not my style, but very nice. Someone linked to some amazing yellow sandals in that style on MN recently.

Thank you! Yes to the converse. I already have a pair of bronze gladiators that might just make it through another season, so I don't need the second link. As for the Ecco ones, I prefer these but now I think about it I try to avoid ankle straps wherever possible. Maybe these would be better - don't love them though.
