spring/summer jackets - what do you wear?

Last year I survived in cardigans from about April to September as I just couldn't find anything coat-wise I liked. I have a gilet for cooler days but obviously that only looks nice with jeans. So for example say I want to wear a knee length denim skirt, t shirt and flats - what jacket would you wear?

I have 2 spring/summer coats.

If it's cooler, or may rain then it's my trusty trench coat. It's thin enough that I don't overheat, and I can kid myself that I look Parisian.

If it's warmer, but you still need a jacket, I have my to-die-for navy and white striped blazer. I love blazers - they go with everything from jeans, vest and sandals to party dresses.

Navy blazer sounds good. Where from? Was thinking about a denim jacket but is that too 1991?

Blazer. I just ordered a lovely charcoal one from Hush, and I have a black one from Warehouse too.

I think I'd avoid a denim skirt / jacket combination!

sorry yes would avoid denim skirt and jacket together, was thinking for with other stuff. I've never worn a blazer as have been pretty scruffy since having the dcs but am trying to make more effort with skirts etc so need to broaden horizons. I feel like a flasher in a trench coat, think it's the belted bit I don't like

I think blazers are so easy. You can put a jumper under it too if it's cold. They are a bit of a cheat thing - you can be scruffy but then add a blazer and pretend that you have made an effort.

H&M always have nice ones, and they are usually around the £30 mark so not too eye watering.

I wear a spring weight leather jacket. I got a light caramel one last year and wore it loads. I have jersey blazers in grey, beige & black that go with most things. I love a denim jacket too but the shape & fit is key. Mango have some good ones atm. I always size down on spring jackets too.

southeastra, I've got that Dotty P one in stone and navy! Very wearable, go with everything.

I have got a couple of nice blazers, but it has to be pretty warm to wear just a blazer. Very blustery this morning where I am and needed my big coat!
