Alpha H Liquid Gold 5% v Balancing Moisturiser 10%

Was looking at the liquid gold for my nose/side of nose area, which I note is 5% glycolic acid, but they also do a cream which is 10% GA, so what's the difference? why does everyone rave about the serum and not the cream?

It also says serum to be applied every other night, but then the cream can be used every day even though it's twice as strong?

Thanks!

I had the serum as a test for my beauty writer friend and was dubious to start with.....but then i was amazed. Seriously amazed. My skin had never looked better......as in one morning i assumed it was the lighting in my bathroom that was wrong because i got up and my skin looked so good. I would give the serum as try- its up in the beauty hall of fame for me. But that said i haven't tried the cream- i just used my normal cream on the alternate nights that i didn't apply the serum!

There is something to do with ph levels which also makes a difference but I don't know what exactly. I'll be back when I know more!

thanks, keep me posted :)
was going to get the elemis papaya peel or the ren mask to tackle pores, but this sounds like it could be better!

I find I can only use one Alpha H product at a time ( the ones that contain glycolic acid anyway ) as when using the liquid gold and the 10% cream, my skin became very dry and a bit flakey. I'm experimenting at the moment to see which one I prefer. Doing a few weeks with the liquid gold, then will try just the cream.

so, have you been alternating them then?

Where do you get it from?

QuinnFabray · 09/03/2012 16:02

I got a kit from salonskincare, which had the original liquid gold in, which you're supposed to use every other night, and the rejuvinating moisturiser which has 10% glycolic acid. You can use this every day, morning and night apparently ( apart from the night you use the liquid gold ). I just found it too much, and athough my blackheads were going, and my skin appeared brighter initially, after a few days it was very dry and flakey. So I'm just using liquid gold right now. I absolutely love the balancing cleanser by the way.

the kit is def good value but I wouldnt use any of the other products so think ill start with a small liquid gold off ebay and see what happens.....!
