How do Mango come up?

Thanks to the thread below about no jeans, I've seen a rather nice shirt dress by Mango I fancy.

Do they come up big or small? Slightly worried that 4 is their smallest size and I am at the upper end (12). The dress looks very short, I've got good legs but can I get away with it at 40??

They fit small - a size 12 is a large in mango and the arms/legs are always a slim fit.

So should I get a 14 in a dress? I've got a bust and often find dresses gape.

I wear a 12/14 and there was a dress last year that I really wanted in Mango but they only had a size 10 and the assistant was pushing me to try it on - I just laughed! I did manage to get the dress on ASOS in a 14 and I love it, it's actually my favourite dress at the moment.

I would say that they are definitely on the smaller side.

mrsmartin · 05/03/2012 21:48

put it this way - I would probably get the 14 but keep the receipt!!! Grin

I don't think they're ridiculously small. I'm a 12 and usually buy their L which fits ok. Shirt dresses can be a bit tight though so probably best to size up.

LeBeauReve · 05/03/2012 22:07

notasgreenasiamcabbagelooking the fact that a size 12 is considered L is Shock

mrsmartin · 05/03/2012 22:10

it is in pretty much all of the spanish brands...zara is the same...

mrsmartin · 05/03/2012 22:10

we brits are just bigger apparently ShockGrin

SlinkingOutsideInFrocks · 06/03/2012 08:26

I would say that Mango and Zara sizing is probably very accurate and true to size, but because we're now so used to vanity sizing, we think they're very small.

But in any case, their size 10, say, will be a lot smaller than other high street brands' size 10.
