Anyone use it?

I have a question.. I bought it Saturday and started the first coat, Its due another coat today. Do I just do another coat on top? Or take it off first?

It says it can be used as a base coat so if I put on a colour would I have to remove it the next day to apply the nail envy?

If you are using it as a stand alone - remove it and apply a new coat.

If you are using it as a base coat leave it on and apply the colour, and remove both colour and base when you are ready to. Re-apply Envy at this stage.

HTH.

I thought you added another coat on top, and did that every other day for a week, then took it off and started again. I think I might have read that on here as I was confused as well. Now I'm even more confused!

It can definitely be used over nail varnish.

No - you put 2 coats on on day 1. Then you apply another coat over the top every other day for a week. When the week is up you take it off and start again. I know this as I am a qvc addict viewer and they have the head distributor and trainer for opi uk on the shows and that is how she says it should be used. If you took it off every other day you would be using nail polish remover every other day which isn't good for your nails. You can use it as your base coat (still do 2 coats, then your normal top coat ant then nail envy every other day).

Nail envy has changed my nails - they used to be short, flakey and peel like mad - now they are like something out of vogue. My top tip is to keep your nails short while you 'grow out' any existing problems, like peels etc.

Hope that clears things up Smile

So just keep adding on top every other day for a week.

mrsmartin- Using the polish remover so often is whats made my nails so manky in the first place. :( My nails were looking pretty good and I got into a nail habit buying tons of different colour polishes. Its left my nails really brittle and peeling.

What if I want to put a colour on (got a party in a few weeks) ?
Should I just use it as a base coat and when the colour chips etc, remove it and continue as normal with the alternate day coats?

To do a colour manicure:

Remove any polish residue with remover
file nails (pref crystal file - if you can't stretch to a leighton denny the barbra daly@tesco one is a good alternative) - push back cuticles
wash hands with regular soap, then dry thoroughly
Coat of nail envy
let it dry
Coat of nail envy
let it dry
Coat of colour
let it dry
Coat of colour
Immediately put top coat on
let it all dry as long as poss (at least 10 mins but ideally 2 hours)

DON'T go to bed straight after doing it
Should last alot longer than usual (I use seche vite as my top coat and it last's me a full week).

Also - DON'T pay full price for nail envy/seche vite etc - they can be bought on ebay and amazon for about £7 a bottle Wink

Can someone please tell me what the heck I'm doing wrong? The nail envy is chipping!!! Any suggestions welcome.

mrsmartin - i've been a lurker for a while and started following your nail and face advice a couple of weeks ago and have already seen the difference so thank you.

I have a question though. So i put nail envy on twice first day and then colour and then seche vite - do i then put nail envy on every day OVER the seche vote? i'm confused as it felt so much like a gel polish in that i had to soak my nails to take it off i didn't think the nail envy could get through?

any advice muchly appreciated. thanks
