MAC Prep and Prime SPF50

In a word- wow! As an incredibly oily 35 year old, i had almost given up hope of having a matte finish skin. Generally my make up is sliding off my face within 30 mins of application. This primer is fantastic. Just a small amount on the forehead, nose, chin and cheeks, allow to dry for 5-10 mins and then apply foundation. It stays put. All day. Thank you S & B ladies who have recommended this in the past

It's amazing isn't it? I will never buy anything else. I just hope they don't discontinue it. I've tried a lot of other primers, and nothing else compares. Plus the added bonus of high SPF.

Out of interest, which foundation to you use?

QuinnFabray · 05/03/2012 12:01

do not to

I love this primer too. I also find Smashbox Photofinish works just as well on me, but the MAC is cheaper and has higher SPF so is probably better all things considered.

I use Dior Nude Glow Hydrating makeup, which I was really sceptical about using at first. The primer really helps it stay on all day. I have flirted with EL Double Wear (too masky), mineral powder foundation (weirdly sits in my pores) and lots of other matte and oil free foundations. I am wondering now though, if the primer is the key and could change the finish of all these foundations. Too bad i threw most of the remnants of my foundations in the bin...

I use EL Double Wear at times, and I have never found it masky at all. Primer probably would have changed how it looks on you and probably eliminated the mask effect.
