Wedding dress chrisis!

Getting married in 6 wks. Can't find anything I like at all off the peg, eBay or oxfam! So going to have to make it as a last resort. I'm quite capable but terrified! I want lace but need a good pattern as haven't got time to draft my own. Have looked online at patterns but nothing I like. Any ideas?

I have a couple of strapless, princess seam patterns if you're looking for a traditional wedding dress shape? Or are you thinking of something different?

If you're looking for fabric, borovicks and broadwick silks in central London (latter is more expensive) have a good range.

Oh, and if you fancy a cool muted blue taffeta/dupion, let me know - I have 8m about to head to the charity shop!

this is one of the two patterns I have.

What kind of things do you like and what would you like to avoid at all cost?

have a look at colette dinnigan (online) and mira mindic (online again)
they do lovely lacy and pretty creations maybe you could copy one of those?

oh and lisa gowing (online again)
good luck!

I'm fine for fabrics as I make curtains for a living so have access to silk and lace easily. ITs just the pattern I'm struggling with Sad I'd love to be able to wear strapless but I'm still breast feeding baby number 5, so am afraid they'll be round my knees by the time I get up the aisle Blush I'm a size 10 and very petite so fitted, nothing meringue like as id look like a cake! Bit of a train at the back.

Hopefully that's a lovely pattern, really like the sleeves! Does it have any boning in the bodice as got a boob issue called 32ff! Wink

I'll have a check in a few mins when baby is asleep. I think it does though. Happy to pop it in the post to you if it will be any use.

Just checked, it's a boned bodice. Pm me your address if you want it and I'll pop it in the post.
