Best blusher for a pale person...

Looking at Mumsnet S&B as you all seem to recommend great products to me.

I need a new blusher, I'm fairly new to the world of using blush and up to now I've only used Lily Lolo in Rosy Apple, which is apparently a pink-brown. However it's quite clumpy in the pot and I'm finding it difficult to get a light but even coverage. So does anyone have any recommendations for for me? I've only really got drug store brands available to me, at the moment, but could venture to Debenhams at the weekend. I've heard bourjois are quite good?

I have really pale skin and use rimmel santa rose blusher. It looks fairly dark in the pot but is actually the perfect colour for a fair skin. Its the only one I ever use and goes on really well considering rimmel is a cheapy brand.

You also need a really good brush if you don't have one, the body shop have brilliant plump blusher brushes.

flipflopflap · 02/03/2012 13:37

Thanks, I'll have a look at that one today, I have a good set of brushes my sister bought me for Christmas so I'm all set there Grin

I have recently purchased Benefit's dandelion powder on recommendation of friends in the know on this subject.. not cheap but does come with a brush.

southeastastra · 02/03/2012 13:40

i have a max factor creme blush which is a pinky brown (can't remember the shade but i think it's similar to the rimmel one mentioned) also really good and not too expensive

brighthair · 02/03/2012 13:49

I use Bare Escentuals Rose radiance which is really nice, plus you only need a tiny bit so it lasts ages

valiumredhead · 02/03/2012 13:55

Bare Minerals.

MissFoodie · 02/03/2012 15:02

go to a bare minerals counter and try some on, also try the all over radiance powders; I'm pale (fairly light) in their foundation and find the rose radiance too chalky (and I bought it of course), so try and go outside and look at it in natural daylight before buying!

ps or even better, find what you want, then order from feelunique, its cheaper and has free delivery :)

I've got a lovely lovely jo Malone gel stick thing which is ace and foolproof- nearing the end after 2 years so hope they still do it.

woopsidaisy · 02/03/2012 15:12

I love Ladyblush by Mac. It is a cream, which I prefer as gives a dewy look, and easier to use fingers than a brush IMO.

suzikettles · 02/03/2012 15:20

I use the Benefit Dandelion powder too and I love it, but it is very subtle - more face-brightening (not reflective though) than much of a blush. I like that it makes me look healthy rather than "made up" which can be tricky with blusher when you're v pale.

EllenParsons · 02/03/2012 16:01

I am pale and use Clinique Blushing Blush in "bashful blush" - it is not too light and does show up quite a lot so you have to be wary of being too heavy handed with it, but it's quite a natural and rosy colour. I also use Smashbox Fusion Soft Lights in "baked stardust" which is a colour wheel with some subtle blush and highlighters to give a really nice glow. You can it from Debenhams online.

lovetoshopxx · 02/03/2012 16:55

i am quite pale & use chanel rose its lovely & smells gorgeous

Lily22 · 02/03/2012 17:24

I am pale and I use Benefit Dandelion for daytime and Nars Orgasm for night.

Twit · 02/03/2012 19:45

MissFoodie I also wear fairly light, and find that blusher too pink, which one do you use?
At the moment I'm using boots naturals rosey glow which is just brown/pink enough to suit.

flipflopflap · 02/03/2012 20:19

Ooh lots to go off here, thanks Ladies, going to write them all down and get myself off into town on Sunday Smile

Twit: it's the million dollar question! am trying to find "the" perfect blusher!
at the mo, I use either Living Nature or Inika.
I've got a new thing from Jane Iredale to review, just finished taking pics of it, will let you know, it has 4 shades, so you can either use the pinks as blusher or swirl together as all over colour/bronzer.
I also have a problem with bronzer, they are always orange on me, the only so far Ive found that isn't is Organic Pharmacy, their Organic Glam range, the lightest one is nice as its more peachy/orange than browny/orange, ifswim.
At the mo, as an all over colour, the BE Warm Radiance is quit good, but be careful, can be a bit Katie Price if you put too much on!
I was wondering that the BE tinted mineral veil is like, tried on instore, looks nice

MissFoodie · 03/03/2012 13:40

ps boots naturals is a fab range and so cheap! prob is I won't use as not entirely chemical free, sorry :(

NoMoreCakeOclock · 03/03/2012 13:43

I'm v pale and wear befit benetint every day! Liquid blusher you can put it on your lips too. The best thing in my make up bag and lasts forever!

NoMoreCakeOclock · 03/03/2012 13:44

*benefit!

cocolepew · 03/03/2012 13:44

A peachy one is good for pale skins.

RedHotPokers · 03/03/2012 13:48

How about Benefit Posie Tint Lip/Cheek Stain. I have a fair complexion, and use Posie Tint in the day, and a touch of BeneTint (redder) when I go out in the evening.

RedHotPokers · 03/03/2012 13:48

xpost Nomorecake!

Kione · 03/03/2012 15:33

Not exactly a blusher, but Avon bronzing pearls are great! I use it instead of the blusher and every single time someone comments on how good my skin looks :o

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 03/03/2012 16:37

I'm pale and like:

-Benetint - horribly expensive but lasts forever (this is now one of my desert island products)
-Natural Collection one that looks bright pink in the pot but is more like Benefit Dandelion in reality

  • Bare Minerals Warmth in the summer (but only the tiniest bit and it looks terrifying in the pot)
