semi permanent hair dye

I have coarse, thick curly hair. I am starting to get quite a few grey hairs poking through. I can't really afford highlights every 6 weeks, plus they tend to really dry my hair out. I was considering using a semi permanent colour. I have used one in the past, but my hair turned much darker than i had wanted. Can anyone recommend a light brown semi permanent dye that has worked well for them?

DON'T DO IT! I used one and it hasn't washed out.

Oh. I was worried about that. I remember the last time i did it (years ago), swearing i wouldn't use one again. Thank you so much for your reply. I hope your hair improves soon!
