Imo the worst shop for sizing is Karen Miller.

I find it hard to believe a couple of those pictures, surely a dress only one size bigger wouldn't have that much excess fabric as on the Next, Jaeger and M&S pics?

Certainly don't doubt difference in sizes in different shops though, my own wardrobe has things in 16, 18 and 20 and I fit them all perfectly.

No such thing as a perfect size 12. All the shops use there own different criteria.

This site:

sizes.darkgreener.com/

Lets you put in some measurements then tells you which shops will fit you best.

This is exactly what I thought when I saw the article about the website that tells you your size - it's all just theoretical! The actual garments are not the same size as the published charts, not by a long way. And I have certainly seen that much discrepancy between sizes and ridiculously inflated sizes (the best being a size 8 suit I tried on in Hobbs, I had to come out of the changing room to show DH because it was the funniest thing I'd ever seen. It was too big by INCHES in every single dimension. I looked like a 3-year-old in her mum's clothes).
