Hello, I have been looking for a gift to give to my sil who has just had a c section. Any recommendations? Tia

One thing I've resolved to buy any new mum from now on is a really nice hand cream. All I did with PFB was wash my hands every 2 minutes and they got really dry. It's something nice she can do for herself while she's feeding or resting after her C Section. I was also given a nice bright nail varnish and a quick dry topcoat which I thought was nice, though not sure I ever got round to doing my nails. If SIL has had a C section though she might be a bit more restricted to her bed so she might find time? I love a bright red nail varnish to cheer me up. Maybe put a basket together with those in and some lovely chocolates, maybe hot choc too and a nice Mum mug?! Lots of little pampering treats...

Thanks crazybutterflylady...sounds good! I am looking around for more specific new mum lotions and potions. I thought I'd cracked it when I heard about mama mio, but I can't find the gift set I was looking for...

Mama Mio is lovely, the boob tube is really nice and great for breastfeeding mums. john lewis sells it?

Ah yes, I have heard it is grid on faces too!

My sister got me a Jo Malone shower gel when I had my DTD's and it was the loveliest present as the only place I ever could truly get away from the feeding/burping/nappies, was in the shower...and what an indulgence to have Jo Malone shower gel...would never have bought it for myself. :)

BTW, what a lovely SIL you are...it's so thoughtful to get the mum a present. I remember so well the people who got me something - it meant so much at a difficult time, especially after a c-section when you've been through so much

Thanks dingdong, poor love is having a tough time. I love Jo Malone, will take a look.

Hi Audley
My SIL got me the 'shopaholic has baby' book when I had my C section (I really love girly reads) and I found time to read it while I was in bed. I absolutely loved it, although not many new mums may find the time or inclination to read.

On another note, if I was going to treat myself I would get either a Laura Mercier creme brulee hand cream (£10) or a shower gel from the same range (£30). I bought them on two separate occassions as presents and they were received really well.

What a lovely SIL you are!
