WHY am I getting pimple after pimple after pimple in the same place?

It's been over a month now. It's not the same pimple coming back to life - it's just a crop of everlasting pimples. Yesterday I was relieved to see that it was finally over and all that remained was a tiny patch of pink, dry skin - no tenderness at all - and it would be all gone in a few days. This evening I have a new white headed pimple RIGHT THERE!

I have never had this before.

Please tell me why it is happening, and more importantly what I can do about it.

It could be an unresolved infection deep within the pore. I had three particularly nasty ones that would eventually heal leaving the pink dry patch you describe but then anything from a couple of days to a few weeks later a new spot appears in the exact same place. It went on for months and months until I bought a DIY salicylic facial peel (I'd tried glycolic peels, benzoyl peroxide gels, creams and washes containing salicylic acid etc previously without any improvement). I'm now happy to say that since using the peel weekly the 3 reoccurring spots have cleared up completely and not returned, and any new spots that appear elsewhere are much easier to deal with lasting a day or two at most.

Blimey that all sounds a bit serious. The most exciting thing in my bathroom is currently a bottle of tea tree oil.

Can I do any of those things while pregnant?

A quick google seems to suggest that salicylic acid can cause birth defects, but the advice seems to be creams and washes contain a lower concentration that should be fine for use, peels contain a higher concentration that MAY enter the bloodstream but if you have a peel done professionally you should be ok. I believe it's because SA is the main metabolite of asprin.

Do you touch your face frequently? Does your phone need a clean? (holding it against your face and spreading nasties) Are you prolonging the skin infection because your make up brushes need a wash?
