Someone had put a link up to ebay, it was very cheap and the best way I can describe it is that it looks like a potato peeler.
I meant to have a look but then forgot and I can't find the link of what it was called.
Can anyone help?

was it like a spring thing and you roll it over the hair?

eandz · 28/02/2012 19:18

?

Macdog · 28/02/2012 19:19

I remember the spring device that worked like threading

supernannyisace · 28/02/2012 19:28

that looks ouchie!!

valiumredhead · 29/02/2012 09:32

I ordered one - will report back!

heidipi · 29/02/2012 10:29

I got the spring thing - either I was using it wrong or it's rubbish. Never yanked a single whisker wisp out.

valiumredhead · 29/02/2012 10:42

Oh bugger! The reviews were good but it said it took a bit of time getting it right.

heidipi · 29/02/2012 10:56

Oh hello again valium, this is the other thing MN told me to do Grin. Maybe I didn't persevere long enough, but don't see how it could work.

Try using the little spring out of a retractable biro before you buy - it's basically the same thing!

superdeeduper · 01/03/2012 21:29

Macdog that wasn't what I was thinking but do you recommend it? I am so fed up of my neck hair that I will try anything!

It did start off as blond hairs which my mum (thanks mum!) drew attention to and started to make me feel a bit self conscious about it. I then started plucking them which of course now come back in dark. It just seems to be a constant battle to stay on top of them and I have even had a kind of ingrown type thing too with some of them which is hellish.

Don't think plucking is any good for me now hence wondering about the gadget. Anyone else suggest what I can do? Don't think I want to do bleaching as I do still have blond hairs which are highlighted in any kind of sunshine already!

Please help me to stop feeling like Chewbacca!!

Try learning to do threading yourself, it's really really easy. A turkish colleague showed me and it's been a revelation. I get very hairy but blonde upper lip and chin and waxing never really did that good a job, now I'm the least hairy I've ever been. There are plenty of YouTube videos, and all you need is a length of any bog standard thread so it's not like you need to invest in anything. I love it.

valiumredhead · 02/03/2012 09:14

There are some plastic threading 'helpers' too for about £11 which looked interesting. How would you thread your own eyebrows though flip?

valiumredhead · 02/03/2012 09:31

OMG I just looked it up on youtube - it's SO easy!!!!! I am going to have a go

The reason I asked how you would do your own eyebrows is because I have seen threading done only by anchoring the thread in the beauticians mouth -but clearly you don't have to do this!!!!!

valiumredhead · 02/03/2012 10:42

Ok, takes a bit of getting used to and I need to speed up but I managed half an eyebrow easily Grin

Can't do chin hairs at all.

My gadget just arrived in the post - utter shite, good job it was only a couple of quid!
