Gok v. VB - What do we think?

This Daily Mail link doesn't need an alert, but am giving one anyway for the sensitive. What do you think of Gok's new stuff for Sainsburys? www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2107254/Gok-Wan-Sainsburys-collection-Get-Victoria-Beckhams-posh-look-less.html

I really like the cropped jacket and the middle dress at the bottom. I wonder about the quality though.

Totally agree - they are the best pieces! I might go and have a look, but when I tried on some stuff last year, I felt like a sausage trying to get into a way too small skin - the inner shaper thing was so bloody tight Smile

Don't have a Sainsburys near me, would have to order online. Are the sizes small Tilly do you think?

Well the outer bit seemed OK, but the inner thing was soooo uncomfortable, but maybe that's just me! I am usuall a size 12 or 10 depending on the shops, and tall rather than "curvy"

In the interests of research for my blog, I tried the jersey dress today and it was a lovely fit. Really flattering on. Overall, I find his range a bit formal though. I wish he would do some more casual items that I could credibly wear to toddler group!

Although I am in no position to spend lots of money on clothes, I just can't get my head around the idea of wearing something from Sainsbury's.

Gok stuff is hideous

dingdong3 · 03/03/2012 14:14

I get stuff from Sainsburys all the time...we are lucky to have a lovely big store with a huge clothing range. I didn't like his last range noddy but I do like this one. But in essence, it's a workwear range - and if I worked still, I probably wouldn't be shopping for clothes in Sainsburys anymore :)

Just returned from a visit to my local Sainsbos and tried on a few of the Gok items having previously bought 2 wrap dresses from previous seasons that I always get great comments on.

Well, I came back empty handed this time.

The knot front dress looked hideous on me - far too much material and really baggy at the chest - totally gapey but like a sausgae skin at the back.

The peplum top has a really lairy gold zip at the back and you could see the bottom of my back where the zip ends and the peplum thingy is a bit open.

The straight leg trousers are in a shiny fabric, not at all what I was expecting - going out trousers rather than office - not at all forgiving on the thighs!

Pencil skirt was a decent fit but crappy fabric that you just know is not going to look good after a couple of hours at work.

So, for me this time, not a success. The dress referred to above (middle pic in the DM article) did look nice on the hanger but black does nothing for me so I didn't bother to try it on.

Hope others have better luck!

I looked at the range in-store yesterday and was not impressed at all.
