I need to get rid of the Essex face lift hairstyle but how?

No matter how well I blow dry my hair it always ends up looking flat and limp. So I tend to resort to a ponytail....all the time.
I don't want to cut my hair short so need some wonder product that will actually boost volume and hold the style.
Help.

use a volumising spray on the roots - mine is called sheer volume in a blue bottle about £5.99 but often on offer and then pantene flexible hairspray. only Use a really light conditioner just on the ends. Mid length hair will look thicker than long - have it cut but you can leave it long enough to scrape back in pony tail if needed. However none of that makes any difference to my hair unless i also have highlights which seem to thicken it up and stop it getting greasy. I no longer want blond hair so i just have highlights a similar colour to my natural colour just to stop it being limp - expensive tho and also get dry ends! I wear a ponytail most of the time when on school run etc but to avoid the scraped back look i have a side parting and wear it quite loose.

You could try adding "volume" by having your hair up, creating a shape at the top or back of your head. The chignon is a nice way to keep the hair of your face and neck, while creating a new balance for your head.

Putting your hair up also keeps your hair ends all tucked up. I attribute my lack of split ends to my tendency to wear my hair up every day. the ends never get played with, swept about, exposed to sun, etc., so are in fine condition!

Blow dry your hair with a spray in roots completely upside down. Not partially or for half the time. Completely, until it is dry. Then hair spray.
