Best Waterproof mascara for use when swimming

Can anyone recommend a good waterproof mascara for use when swimming? I usually use all Clinique products but thought their waterproof mascara was absolutely terrible - it washed off as soon as I got in the pool.

TIA!

YSL waterproof mascara - I wear it every time I take the kids swimming and it does not budge. You will need to get a decent eye make up remover though aswell !

Blinc....was recommended here. Fantastic stuff, waterproof but comes off with hot water only. Something to do with the temp!!!

Blinc definitely.

No panda eyes, only spider legs down your face if you are unlucky:)

give yourself a break and dont wear any

Thanks All, info gratefully received. I had looked at the YSL and whilst most of the reviews were great there was one who said it smudged badly. I do think I am quite likely to go with the YSL though. Never even heard of Blinc - the fact that it only comes off with hot water is a bit of a concern though as the Clinique one claimed that but came off in the pool (although thankfully kind of 'fell off' and didn't leave panda eyes).

cazza what eye make up remover do you use - I currently use either Clinique or simple (which I think is effectively the same as the Clinique but about 10%of the cost!) and it is fine for my non-waterproof mascara. I think it is oil based so hopefully will also work with the YSL but not with the Blinc.

Bearly - not possible as unfortunately the only time I have to go swimming is lunch time and I need some make up to help when meeting clients in the afternoon :)

Hi curious parent I use the Clinique eye make up remover which is fine on the Ysl mascara have noted what you have said about the simple one though re price and will give it a try

I use Blinc too and it's great for daily wear as it really doesn't smudge. However I'm not too sure about swimming with them as it depends on the water temperature in the pool. They do start to flake a bit if wetted... As I have discovered myself when I cried with them on.

I have Clarins Fix Mascara which is a waterproofing sealant that I put on top of my Clinique non waterproof mascara to stop it running, smudging etc due to my watery eyes. I haven't swum with it but it works well for rain, crying, eye rubbing... could be worth a try?

You pretty much need a blow torch to remove Lancome's Hypnose waterproof mascara. I bought some for my mum's funeral and it held up very well. Mind you, I don't cry chlorinated water so couldn't say whether pool water would have a different impact. You definitely need an oily remover to get it off. The Johnson's one works quite well.

cazza I was pleased when someone mentioned it to me as I was saying how good the clinique eye make up remover was and they said oh it sounds like simple, that's really good but only £3 something so I gave it a go (on a tight month!) and was really impressed - I haven't bought the clinique one since.

Interesting tiger re the flaking of the Blinc as the clinique 'waterproof' one I used that is supposed to work on a similar principle to Blinc just immediately flaked off - it didn't smudge, just come off in clumps.

Clarins option may be worth a go as well - thansk Ellen.

Grin at having kittens blow torch. But sorry of your need for it for your mums funeral :(

Ok bought the YSL and agree it is great.

But cazza have to let you know that although the simple eye make up remover is ok with my clinique mascara it won't work on this YSL (hope you haven't already bought some!).

Luckily I also had some clinique eye make up remover and that worked a treat!
