BB Cream?

First of all, what does it do? Can I wear it alone or is it for under foundation? Will it even out my skin tone (I have rosacea on my cheeks)? I've seen a 17 one for £7. Worth it or is there a better choice that isn't hugely expensive?

I just bought a Loreal one and am loving it. It does even skin tone and gives just enough coverage if your skin is basically in good shape. I would say it blurs the uneven-ness and gives a bit of colour coverage.
