Work suits but Next doesnt work for me

I have spent this morning looking for work suits the only place that had any was Next. Im 5ft 6 so not particularly small but all of the trousers were way too long.

shop assistand suggested I try petite but they are for ladies under 5ft 3.

I dont want to spend a fortune - any suggestions

If you're looking in the same sort of price bracket I find New Look quite good for work trousers and blazers. Quality is better than you'd think and I think they do different leg lengths.

Slaters are fantastic for stylish suits and are really good quality...average price is £70-£100 for 2piece suit but there are some styles where you can get a 3piece for that price. And if you can go in to a store they tailor their own brand for free...I used to get all my suits and work dresses from them (don't need to wear suits anymore).

Slaters ignore the waistcoats at the top of the page though...
