I don't have pierced ears

I used to, but the piercer did them really badly and the holes were at funny angles. When I got to late teens I let them close up. Now I feel like the only woman in the world without pierced ears. Should I get it done again?

I'm the same, closed up holes! Doesn't bother me though as I don't like wearing earrings

I didn't get mine pierced until I was 48. I simply hadn't got round to it. I used to find that the nicest earrings were for pierced ears, so one day I just walked into Claire's and got it done. I am now the proud owner of several pairs of really pretty earrings.

Thanks Funny. I'm not sure if I like wearing them or not, it's been so long! I know I don't want DS ripping them out of my ears though...

No. I had them but let them close up too. I actually really dislike them now, can't see the attraction at all.

ObviouslyOblivious · 26/02/2012 09:43

Thanks Bun. Did it hurt?

Me too, I got them done when I was about 12, but they closed up as I kept taking the studs out because they were sore and uncomfortable.

Honestly though I've got so used to not wearing earrings that I don't miss them or ever really think about it. So personally wouldn't bother getting them done again. But then I'm not much of a jewellery person anyway.

Bunbaker · 26/02/2012 09:53

Not at all. I was meticulous afterwards about cleaning them and had no problems whatsoever.

cookielove · 26/02/2012 10:02

I got them done when i was 11 they closed, ever so often i would re pierce them close re pierce this was repeated several times, i gave up by my late teens, and haven't worn them since then really. I hate the way they feel in my ears, i constantly played with them and then my ears would get all hot and uncomfortable.

Oddly i've had my bellybutton pierced since i was 17 and have had no issues with that.

I am 29.

I wonder this sometimes. I have never had mine pierced and think I might be the only woman I know who has never had them done. Never fancied it, and now is not the time when my toddler would surely tug on dangly earrings :)

I'm 34 btw.

bruffin · 26/02/2012 11:32

My mum and mil didn't have theirs done until they were in their 70s. The talked each other into it.

ObviouslyOblivious · 27/02/2012 09:57

Thanks everyone. I'm not a jewellery person either, only wear my engagement ring. I like necklaces but can't wear them with DS around as he just pulls them :o
I may get my ears done and just wear some nice stud type earrings to add a bit of 'something' - I just feel a bit plain at the moment!
