Want a really good quality wool jumper...

Help, have decided I really want a decent jumper instead of fraying, decades-old tat as currently but I have no idea where to look. Most places just seem to be polyestertastic these days! What brands should I be looking out for please, oh wise ones?

Thanks, Euphemia! Had never considered EWM but they had some really nice stuff on the website. Didn't really like the Brora stuff as much, which is just as well in view of the price!

Any more?

Check out Fat Face I am a recent convert and LOVE their stuff, slightly pricey but great quality.

Thanks Steben, a few lovely things there! Had always assumed Fat Face is far too surfy/young for me- always good to have one's prejudices challenged! Any more, anyone?

I like Pure Collection. Their stuff is not cheap though. The selection of colours may be a bit limited too...

Benetton.
But you'll have to wait until the next autumn/winter collection.

Brora - everything I've ever bought from there has been amazing. NOt cheap but lasts forever

I thought that I bought a lovely wool jumper from celtic sheepskin. But it hasn't worn well, pilled and felted after a few wears even though I hand washed it. I am knitting my own next time.

FetchezLaVache · 26/02/2012 23:24

Wow- loads to be looking at! Thanks so much, everyone!

I agree that brora lasts forever. Had heard same on here but was disbelieving until someone bought my DD a couple of cardis when she was a toddler.

They have now been worn by three DC's and are still going strong despite being machine washed repeatedly to remove bolognese/grass/whatever stains

So I have invested for myself. Brilliant.
