Horizontal stripes

I'm always drawn to horizontal striped tops, but I'm about a stone over my best weight after baby number 3, and it's all around my middle. Should I avoid it for now?
Have seen some nice things, but hesitating to make the problem worse!

narrow stripes that aren't too tight are actually quite slimming -avoid wide stripes though

Am also drawn to belted dresses, but I have no waist at all! Thanks Worskshy, so this is ok, but this probably out?

what dress size are you?

the stripes on the first one are ok but the top is not fitted enough IMO

and belted dresses create the illusion of a waist -get trying on!

A 14, but the belly is not accommodating of belts or fitted waits yet. It's very much a tunic and skinny/straight jeans time for me, plus everything has to button down or lift up for boob access. I bought this (which I love) in a 16, but it just isn't flattering. A few million sit-ups needed...
