Any experienced dieters?

I am on a diet and have lost 7 pounds in 3 weeks. On one hand I am pleased although I wish it was more (I haven't been able to do much exercise after hurting my back) but I can't see any difference in myself at all!!

How much weight do you have to lose to be able to see the change in the mirror?

I want (need!) to lose about 4 to 5 stones - is it better to do cardio to get the fat off first and then weights to build muscle or to do both at once?

If you have lost a lot of weight when did you buy new clothes? I can't really afford to by lots of clothes for the interim period!!

What about saggy skin being left behind? I have been watching that Obese a year to save your life program and was wondering if it was only something you got if you lost 8 + stones. Is there a way of preventing it?

sounds good to me...just name the place Smile

Count me in. I need to lose 4 stone which also equates to about 4 dress sizes for me. Currently 16/18 (depending on store) but prior to weight gain have always been a 10/12 (depending on store). So fed up with ALL clothes looking shit on me. I want to look nice. I want nice jeans, not to have to make sure tops are long enough to cover muffin top and skim spare tyre etc.

I cycle every day but will be shredding. I have found that the only way I can "diet" is by ensuring I eat 30g of protein 3x a day, with fruit/veg/dairy and a few brown carbs and cutting back (trying to give up really) drastically on sugar. I'm a total sugar fiend at the moment.

Sounds good!

I'm a total sweetie fiend...due to abit of a breakdown last year the weight just piled on. I didn't eat anything extra - I've always eaten 5 mars bars in 30 mins Shock but it just piled on - think I had just been rushing around my whole life without realising. Focusing on beautification has been largely to thank for pulling me through depression - My skin has improved tenfold but my body has suffered. And whilst my hair, face & nails etc are now pretty enviable, I now have stretch marks that start on my hips and go all the way dwn to the back of my knees (good thing I prefer knee length skirts). No one is perfect = it's all about finding what makes us look and feel better.

Anyway - we will have our slim club and we all feel even more fabulous together Grin

I am still groomed and glamourous to the outside world though - I just look like a road map when unwrapped...Wink
