Liquid eye liner vs kohl pencil for doing the flick. Which is better in terms of versatility and particularly for novices such as myself? Which brand? Middle - ish price range so not Chanel or Lancome et al I'm afraid.

wet eyeshadow and an eyeliner brush is the easiest method in my experience...

Echo mrs Martin. I use bobbi brown plum eyeshadow and a mac angled brush. Or Laura Mercier caviar cake eyeliner. Or Louise young eyeliner brush and a bobbi brown gel eyeliner. Whatever's nearer in the drawer
