Help me make my shoe smaller!

Need some help oh S & B'ers. I have my 40th birthday party next week & am planning on wearing some v glam leopard print heels. I have discovered recently that one of my feet is obviously half a size smaller than the other. As I spend most of my life in flats as I'm 5 ft 9, I have never noticed this, but I think the heels force the back of my foot forward because of their angle. This means I am finding it a nightmare to walk in these shoes (& it's not just these shoes, I have 3 pairs of heels I've bought since Christmas & have the same problem in them all). It's honestly like walking in a flip-flop on the smaller foot, I can't keep the shoe on! I have tried the insoles that are supposed to take your shoes down by half a size - didn't work. I have tried the heel grip things that stick inside the shoe - didn't work, seem to force my foot even further forward.

I'm stuck now! And desperate, I wanted this to be my 'wow look at me!' night & I'm going to look like an idiot who can't walk in heels :(

Any ideas?

Oh you need one of those little suede heel grips you stick on the inside of your show - does the job! You can get them at a cobblers or Wilkos, I have seen them in Tesco too :)

shoe not show!

Hmmmm - is it just the one shoe that is too big? You don't want a full length insole but a half insole. If you really need to take your foo back alot then double up using a pair of party feet (the gel half insoles). Heel grips should work if used in conjunction with the party feet but they usually need cutting down (buy the suede-textured ones and cut them so that the ridge is about 2mm below the top edge of the shoe (that way you wont see them but they will catch your heel as you walk). If that doesn't work then they are all just way too big for you.

The heel grips will be fine I have one foot bigger than the other and so use these a lot Grin

Nope, have used the heel grips & they just seem to push my foot further forward (they are the suedey ones). Have also tried the Party Feet gel things
:( I am stuffed aren't I? Am so upset, the 3 pairs of shoes are so lovely but I just can't walk. And I so wanted to be glam!

Stuff the end with cotton wool?

StellaAndFries · 21/02/2012 18:48

I've heard lambs wool is good for stuffing in the toe of heels to make them smaller and stop feet hurting. I've not tried it myself as I rarely wear heels.

Lambswool? Do you think a glove would do? :) I think I need to do some experimenting...

Thick memory foam insoles.
