please can you tell me which high street shops actually stock size 8.5 or 9?

After growing increasingly frustrated at size 8s just never fitting, I went to Clarks and had my feet measured, and it turns out I'm size 8.5 WIDE. The assistant showed me what is available for me and basically I'm 30 years too young for those styles :(

I have size eight feet and have trouble too as they wide aswell.

Great - I will write them down and do some research on stockists. I am not keen to buy online because I suspect I'd have to return 80% of what I buy, but I'm near enough to London so maybe I should plan a shopping day? God I loathe shoe shopping but I really do need some now.
