Funereal not Frumpy

My problem is that generally most of my clothes inadvertently ' showcase' my 34FF embonpoint - obviously this is less than desirable at a funeral, however ( and this is somewhat shallow ) I see some of these people once a decade and would like to avoid looking like a home counties Tory MP's wife on the hustings - I have a pathological terror of frump. So would this www.houseoffraser.co.uk/Mint+Velvet+Black+lace+sleeve+top/163050853,default,pd.html with a black pencil skirt do the trick ?

Open to suggestions, I'm a size 14 hourglass, generally tending towards the 50s glamour school of dressing.

Thank you.

I'm not keen, sorry.

Like the skirt and blouse idea, just not that blouse... this would look good with a black pencil skirt and a pendant necklace. Or this. Or this. Or this.

Or a dress- Here?

Gawd bless yer Tethersend, I particularly like the Hobbs dress. And I love black lace too. I have a black LK Bennett dress ( Tina ? ) which I love but it's way too breasty ( staring incidents on the tube and at a work do make me doubt its funeral suitability ).

Hi there.
I like the Mint Velvet top - and think it has a looseness about it that might prevent said showcasing...
But won't you be cold? Short Sleeves for February funeral? And if you put a Jacket over that top then you will loose the prettiness of the cap sleeves.

I had planned to wear a jacket, Smeraldina, yes and you're right it would be a shame to lose the effect of the sleeves, which is what attracted me in the first place.

Really I wish I was young and skinny enough to get away with one of those pussycat bow blouses that are all over the place at the moment but I would (a) look like the aforesaid Tory wife and (b) look like my mother.
