Well I tried to put it all in the title. Can anyone help me find basic smart/casual clothes (Mainly tops) that are cheap. I am size 22 (would wear 24 in tighter fitting suff as I Like to hide the bumps) and 20 on the bottom.

hi,
Bonmarche is the place for pluss size clothes that are good material in honest sizes. Im sure others will come up with some good places, but i just wanted to mention this shop as it quite often gets overlooked.
Best of luck x

ohh thanks. There is one of these in my local high street but I have never actually ventured in. Are they on-line?

Yours Clothing They have a few stores but are mostly online. I get a lot of trousers/jeans from there as most stores think plus size women only have short legs! :o

Fabulous clothes.

dressmeplease · 19/02/2012 22:31

Yes they are on line, but they do also cater for short legs from a 26/27 inch inside leg to about 33? lol, my son went through a stage of being in a 34 waste with 27 leg. needless to say that he was in mans clothes that burried him...cut to the chase I soon got him sorted at bonmarche for just the plainest of jogger bottoms! hehe, he wasnt bothered though as he fealt dressed yet not scruffy in large clothes. and that was at 13, if only his mates knew ;-))

I think you would be best off in dresses so you are not cutting yourself up. With good underwear you can create a good silhouette

I have some lovely "going out" dresses but my new job will involve situations where trousers are more appropriate attire. any suggestions of any nice dresses will of course be considered (because I just love spending cash I dont have) and there are times I will def be in the office.

I brought a couple of dresses from Bonmarche recently - brilliant and cheap!

dressmeplease · 20/02/2012 12:52

Thanks hip. I will def have a look.

Here is a bit more of an exciting prospect.

I have lived in flat shoes for the last decade. But now I will be driving to more places I could have a modest heel. Any takers for finding me some nice but reasonably practical shoes?

Style 369 online has some nice stuff: sizes 16-26.

hazchem · 20/02/2012 13:00

Have a look at TS14+ it is australian but they ship worldwide. There stuff is well made and lots of pieces can be wore in various ways. I have a cardigan that does up in 18 different styles or something. It's a tad pricey but it's 50% off lots at the moment

aftereight · 20/02/2012 13:04

Next, New Look & M&S Limited Collection for cheapish, comfy heels. Oh, and also saw some colourful suede ones in DP with a mid height heel for £22!
Good luck in your new job :)

SuperDuperJezebel · 20/02/2012 13:11

H&M online go up to 22, maybe even 24 I think in some of their regular stuff (not the Divided range) and they also have their BIB plus size range (although it's always a bit meh if you ask me!). I am in a j

Whoops hit post too soon... I am in a job where I need to wear comfortable easy to move in stuff, and have loads of jersey dresses from there which I wear with cardis and leggings. Congrats on new job!

dressmeplease · 20/02/2012 13:30

I can't tell anyone yet so my head wants to explode. I have had a verbal offer bit not the full written one yet so I am jumping the gun I bit and am trying to vent with shopping!
