Concealer vs Colour corrector

Am gradually getting there with my make-up and MN. I was wondering when would you use a concealer rather than a colour corrector? I know that the green colour corrector deals with redness but beyond that I am confused. What, for example, does a yellow colour corrector do (are we aiming for a Simpsons complexion?)? What does a concealer do that the correctors can't?
I have red veins around my nose that I try and hide but not sure what to use. Would a concealer or corrector (or something else) help that area? Also I see people using a concealer under their eyes is that to cover darkness?

Use Bare Minerals Bisque concealoer for red veins, it is the BEST!

Yellow helps blue under yes shadows btw!

I use yellow to conceal the purple/black around my eyes as they are opposites on colour wheel so provide the best concealment.

I use a green to cover red veins, red areas, acne scars etc as again, green is an opposite to red so works well to conceal.

The best green and yellow concealers I've found are powders by Lily Lolo. The Bare Minerals Bisque is very effective in terms of coverage but it only comes in two shades and both were way too dark on my skin (even though I'm olive/yellow toned) and looked like I'd smeared putty on my face Confused

The LL however blends perfectly under their mineral foundation and my skin has never looked so good :)

I like Benefit Erase Paste. I use it over green colour corrector for red thread veins on my cheeks. The colour corrector is a £2.99 obe from Natural Collection at Boots. Does the job.

Oh that erase paste is shite - I was SO disappointed!

Am using LL, so green better than their concealer then for my veins?

It depends how much coverage you want - generally if you use a colour corrector you will need either foundation or concealer over the top; if you just use concealer then it can be blended away so that you don't have to wear other base products (foundation etc) if you don't want to. I personally find theses to be the best products for concealer/colour corrector...

Mally Cancellation Concealer System - best for under eyes
Smashbox Pro Second Skin Concealer - best for blemishes on the face
BM Foundation applied with Max Coverage Concealer Brush - best for minor inperfections
Jemma Kidd Complexion Perfection Palette - best for a bit of everything as has a lime green colour corrector (counters both red and bluey-purple), an apricot colour corrector (adds 'life'to the skin), a highlighter and a lip/cheek colour

LL conceal or doesn't work for me.

Also - if you go the colour corrector route - smashbox do coloured primers so you can prime and correct at the same time.

Prime and correct sounds good!
