New bowl of crisps, tuck in Ruby!

I am thrilled at this Pixi lust. Another of their things wot I like is the cheek gel in natural. It doesn't stay on very long but while it does it's well pretty.

I felt a bit rubbish yesterday and spent much too long hunched over the computer looking at not very edifying things. Today is better. Have shredded, spot cleaned the stair carpet, written a letter to DD who will be at an outdoor pursuity place with school next week and am now going out to buy some fabric conditioner at Wilkos. When the mice are away the cat does rather boring things, it would seem Blush.

Stropps enjoy new glasses. Is exchange going home today?

Dukes, is that for the outside of the windows?
For my inside windows, I use a jcloth to put vinegar on windows and then clean off with scrunched up newspaper. It's really great for getting limescale marks off the shower glass Smile

Blackduck · 30/03/2012 12:18

Have I wandered onto a flylady thread by mistake :)
Agree ree jacket, if it doesn't feel 'right' immediately return it...too much money to feel ambivalent about it!
Strops hope it doesn't take too long to get the results.
Did house viewing last night. Now trying to number crunch.....

MrsSchadenfreude · 30/03/2012 15:07

I am 47 and have never cleaned a window in my life, and don't intend to start now. Grin DH does windows.

CointreauVersial · 30/03/2012 18:09

MrsS - I can persuade DH to do the outside of the windows, but the inside he kindly leaves for me.

All done, anyway (and there were 16; I found another one).

BTM - I read somewhere that the vinegar and newspaper method should be consigned to history, as modern inks mean that it no longer works. I'm afraid I go for the "Windowlene and Eco Cloth" technique for the insides.

Anyway, enough about housework......Herbs - did your £1.99 H&M dress arrive?

And BD - tell us more about house!!

herbaceous · 30/03/2012 18:14

No sign of H&M dress, sadly. I am currently sporting my stripey Oasis number, however, and intend to wear it to a meal out tonight, in London's trendy Islington. I hope it's suitable.

Went to see friend with tiny new baby with troublesome birth today. She is BEAUTIFUL. Still only 7lb 6oz, but doing fine. Friend is so happy, and in love. Naturally utterly shagged.

Bonsoir · 30/03/2012 19:01

MrsSchadenfreude - Vitrissimo is your friend Smile

TheReturnOfStropperella · 30/03/2012 19:45

Brilliant to hear that your friend's baby is doing well, herbs. I am slightly Envy at the idea of a meal out in trendy Islington.

All this talk of window-cleaning is making me feel slightly guilty, but only slightly. The lovely sunshine has been highlighting the filth on my windows for the last couple of weeks. I look at the windows and say brightly "Oh look they are completely disgusting, I must clean them." And then don't. I pay a nice chap to clean the outside every couple of months, but the inside only gets done when I feel like it. Which is not very often. Usually it only happens when one of the children has found the window graffiti pens and done rude pictures on them. I hid the pens so well after the last time (at Christmas) that ds has not found them yet. Tip: only buy window graffiti pens and leave them in an accessible place if you want to clean your windows v. v. v. often.

bigTillyMint · 30/03/2012 20:08

Herbs, "still only 7lb 6oz" DD was still 6lb 7oz at 6 weeks. My fired eggs weren't up to the jobBlush Nowt wrong with her now though!

I don't do mine very often and won't be doing them at all if I go back to working full-time!

Just back from after work drinks - the joy of working locallyGrin

bigTillyMint · 30/03/2012 20:09

fried eggs!

Blackduck · 30/03/2012 21:43

Ds 4 9 born, at six weeks don't think he was knocking on 6! Now a skinny, but noisy eight year old...
House A again - small cottage, on the hill, dp's middle of no where (not) dream. Finances give me the willies.... This is doubling our mortgage....

CointreauVersial · 30/03/2012 22:20

My biggest babe was only 7lb; I do 'em small.

BD - as House A has clearly been languishing on the market for quite some time, surely they will take a substantial cut in price??

Concluding the windows discussion - just to be clear, I am in no way a domestic goddess, I just got sick of not being able to see out of the patio doors, on account of the smeary fingerprinty mess on the glass. Nothing like a bit of sunshine to highlight shortcomings on the housework front.

DH is out tonight. DCs are in bed, I'm snuggled on the sofa with (half empty) bottle of wine and (half eaten) bar of chocolate. All is well with the world!

I have pulled the blinds on the kitchen windows so I don't have to see that they urgently need cleaning. Grin

Have been "chatting" on FB to my Groucho Friend who has, most inconsiderately, gone to work in Latin America for 6 months. Miss him, he is one of the loveliest people I know.

DH has gone back to UK for a party in Milton Keynes, and have very old friend coming round for dinner tomorrow night. So should be a good weekend!

Am having an early(ish) night. Slumped on bed with cats, and the Maine Coon is snoring loudly, bless him. Smile

CointreauVersial · 30/03/2012 22:43

Ruby - if you'd like to pop down to Surrey in six months or so. I'll provide the Windowlene.

Well done on the training!

Blackduck · 31/03/2012 07:26

CV unfortunately it has not been languishing on the market. They took it off last October and decided to stay. Dp rang estate agent on spec....so no big reduction I am afraid! I cannot believe I am even contemplating doubling my mortgage for such a small house!
Windows - outside by cleaner, inside once in a blue moon. No swimming or stage coach today, but three viewings on house tomorrow, so perhaps I should clean the windows!
Congrats on training Ruby, sure you don't want ds as your first victim? Whole of the Easter break to fill.....

bigTillyMint · 31/03/2012 08:04

Congrats on your training Ruby! Maybe you could set up a bike-training /window-cleaning business to tour the crepeys?Grin

Am loving spying on DD via FB Blush

motherinferior · 31/03/2012 09:03

Our beauty ed asked the other day (in a sort of general MI-and-the-subs direction, as I am as pedantic keen on accuracy as they are) 'how do you spell crepey?' I whizzed back the answer instantly Grin

(She was doing piece on Arms. Being a lithe 32 year old gym bunny, though, this is not a problem of hers Envy.)

I have to sing again today. Must finish a feature and then crack on with last-minute practice. Do not feel like it. DP also poorly and I am being insufficiently sympathetic.

MrsSchadenfreude · 31/03/2012 10:00

I have made 50 muffins for a cake sale and Easter egg hunt this afternoon, and fully intend keeping some of them back for our own consumption. I have made choc choc chip, banana and nougatine and carrot with vanilla cheesecake topping, which are a sort of invention - carrot cake usually has a cream cheese icing, so I thought I would bake the icing into these to make them easier to carry more interesting.

Have been clearing out the freezer which seems to contain a lot of bacon and fish, and some meals which I had frozen for the DDs a while back, which need eating up. So we have had egg and bacon for breakfast. Yum. Nice bacon from the butcher in the village where we used to live near Milton Keynes.

bigTillyMint · 31/03/2012 10:21

Mmmmm!

Sadly, MI, I could tell your beauty ed all about crepey arms. How can they be muscular on the outside bit and bingo-winged/crepey on the inside? Do you think she is a lurker?Grin

motherinferior · 31/03/2012 10:35

I must remember to take the brownies I made out to my parents' tomorrow.

BTM, she is young and gorgeous and child-free. Oddly enough I suspect she has better other things to do with her time Grin.

I got some freebies yesterday. An Avene Ystheal eye cream and some Trilogy rosehip oil. Will report back when I've finally finished my current freebies products and try them.

herbaceous · 31/03/2012 11:28

Oof. Feeling a bit fragile after my night out in London's trendy Islington. Got in at 1am! Then couldn't sleep properly, as is par for the course after lots of food and booze.

Off shortly to visit friends in Farnham, for which I am supposed to be packing, as payback for the lie-in I was allowed this morn. Crack on!
