Has anyone seen a similar dress on their travels?

I'm looking for an evening dress with a neckline like this Hobbs dress. I'm carrying a bit of extra baby weight around my middle so preferably not in a jersey material. Black would probably be best red really isn't my colour, TIA Smile

Reiss
Reiss not as good?
Phase Eight suspect this will be on the loo-roll-cover side of good, but you never know
phase eight printed
any of these any good?

Snakeonaplane · 15/02/2012 20:11

I've had my eye on a couple of those reiss dresses but the ones I like are all over £200 I've had a baby 8 weeks ago and am a size bigger than my usual size so really can't justify it as as it won't get worn again. It's for a black tie do so don't think I'd get away with the printed one. Thank you though.

Similar, but longer sleeves at House of Fraser

Green and slightly lower cut

Purple, and slightly more bias cut neck, but might hide a tummy

PestoPenguin · 15/02/2012 20:26

Navy with slightly lacier neck at Debenhams

Interesting cheaper burgundy variation at ASOS with 3/4 sleeves

Snakeonaplane · 15/02/2012 20:30

Ooh I like the shape of the green one but not to sure about the colour, love that purple one but unfortunately the shape is just all wrong for me.

OK, I'm going further off the wall now!

Monsoon navy cap sleeve, but a bit floatier than your original (forgiving on the midriff perhaps?)

Black from ASOS

(Can you tell I'm enjoying the virtual shopping Blush)

Another ASOS option in either blue/black or burgundy (might be too slim round the middle)

Sorry penguin but it's not really my style I think I'm 20 Grin it sort of says mature lady to me. My bottom half and my boobs are my best assets, I'm a 10 on the bottom and currently have 34g boobs thanks to BF if I wear floaty I'll look mahoosive, a good pair of spanx and a structured dress are what I need Grin.

I love this purple LK Bennett one, sadly I would look like a sack of potatoes in it. There's even a dressier velvet version. They also have a v plain black one in a different style. The wine one might be too grannyish.

OK, I'm off to watch NCIS now Grin

Snakeonaplane · 15/02/2012 20:57

God when I read my measurements back I think I should probably just wear a moo moo

Have you tried Coast?
These two in the sale sale 1 and sale 2 aren't in your size, but are they the right sort of thing?

Or there's this one which is non-sale, but I think quite nice.

Karen Millen

Oasis

black oasis

dorothy perkins - probably not smart enough

not really fitting your categories, but nice?

Sorry, haven't been through all other links - don't think they've already been posted

PastGrace · 15/02/2012 22:13

TK Maxx have some which might do - the colours are a bit dodgy though

TK Maxx 1

Pepperberry sale and ultra cheap but colour is a bit...much

Thank you grace some of those dresses are spot on, your search led me to this which looks perfect, it isn't my usual style at all but it looks like it will be very flattering and the reviews say good for curves so will give it a go. Thanks for all your help.
Btw I don't think I've been in a Dorothy Perkins for a couple of years but happened to go in yesterday as I was buying a parka I had found online there and actually spotted that dress, it's really nice. I was in a rush so didn't look at the price but I can't believe how cheap it is plus they're giving 25% off with a student card, I think I'll buy it for another time Smile

Ah that one is lovely Smile.

PastGrace · 16/02/2012 10:54

ooh, good choice. Glad I could help!

I was desperately avoiding work yesterday, so my flat is lovely and tidy and I've pounced on any of the "can you find me a..." threads.

Enjoy your party.
