To highlight or not to highlight

Hi ladies

Looking for some advice - after the birth of DS 18 months ago I decided to reject the peroxide and try and embrace my natural brunette. My highlighted hair had become blonder and blonder and looked a bit like straw (most attractive).

Problem is I still don't recognise my reflection and think I look like a mad goth version of myself Grin I really wish I had that really nice shiny deep brown hair, but although I have had it coloured - the darkest brown only ups the goth element and closer to my natural brown is kind of meh. Confused

So here is the choice - seeing my hairdresser this week. I am seriously considering having highlight back again (remembering my lovely wedding hair 5 years ago before the peroxide really took hold), or is there a better solution? Do I need to hold on in there?

Any advice appreciated

Thanks
