Clothes shopping scares me, I have so little idea of style, create me a wardrobe please!

Ok, I'm totally clueless about clothes. Actually, its worse than that, I don't even notice what people wear.
Currently I survive with the same 3 skirts and 4 tops that are my staple 'work' clothes. They are now old and battered so I need to go shopping for replacements.

What do 35yr olds wear these days? I'm an infant school teacher, so practical and comfortable is essential. I am short (5'2"), size 10. I get nervous about showing my figure, but would like to change that.
Oh, and I have no sense of which colours go together and which don't.
Is that enough of a challenge? Can anyone dress me please?!

I don't know what 35 year olds wear but I have two suggestions. First figure out your body shape hourglass, apple, pear, rectangle. Read online what flatters that shape. Or go with your gut and dress to flatter the parts of you that you love say your legs, waist, arms -- whatever.

Two well worth going to one of the department stores and have them bring you items to do a "refresh" of your wardrobe. You are under no obligation to buy -- but they will bring you far more things than you will be able to identify on teh shop floor so you can focus on what looks right.
