I've only been on here (mainly lurking/learning) for about six months. But what I've got from here (particularly style and beauty tips) is incredible.

Today I wore Asda Great Bum jeans tucked into Clarks riding boots (would previously have never considered Clarks other than for Ds shoes) plus an 'artfully' arranged scarf (IMO anyway).

My make included Bare Escensuals foundation and powder, Urban Decay Naked palette eyeshadow and Bobbi Brown liner.

Oh, and my skin is much better thanks to oil cleansing. And I've lost 8lbs in the last three weeks thanks, in part, to The Shred.

Thank you all! What next? :-)

Bumsex?

2blessed2bstressed · 12/02/2012 18:37

Chaos! Babyliss big hair, surely? Grin

what is The Shred?

MN S&B means I don't have to look at the blank expression on DH's face when I make yet another beauty discovery and need to share.

I've had a Brazilian hair treatment, had my eyebrows threaded and converted to Lily Lolo.

Tell me about the jeans!

Ha, Chaos, done bumsex before and it just made my frown lines worse :0

I am interested in the Babyliss big hair, but I have very fine hair, in a layered bob, just chin length, so I'm guessing it will be no good for me.

Oldbag, I should have mentioned, I've started getting a beauty box too! Got my first one (Glossy Box) last month and I'm very impressed.

Mrs Martin, the Shred is an exercise DVD. Hardest work out I've ever done (and I used to be very fit in my early 30s), BUT it's only 20 mins for each session, so manageable.

And FlyingTeapot, the jeans are great. £18 from Asda (and only just back in stock after months out of stock). Not sure if they really give you a Great Bum, but the fit is really good.

Anyway, I'm just delighted with what I've learnt here so far. I've always taken care of my appearance, but since having my DS two years ago I think I've lost my way a little. Put on a few pounds (okay, a stone) and just haven't spent enough time on myself, and also haven't had the money I had pre-DS. Thanks to the suggestions on here, I am making myself spend a little more time on myself, but also discovering lots of ways to look better for not so much money.

Thanks again. I'm an MN convert
