Looking for ideas for restyle

I put on loads of weight, and lost all idea of style. I am seeing a surgeon next month to book in for a gastric band so the weight will be coming off.

I have not bought much lately, it can be used when I am shrinking.

I have kept clothes from when I was smaller.

Any ideas of what is a more updated style for me.

I have lost a lot of confidence in my looks and could do with a boost.

I have slightly long body, short legs/arms, which are in turn chunky in proportion. When I am smaller I have a fairly flat stomach. Natural big boobs, droopy now a days.

I am in my thirties.

I want to get back into smarter clothes again, only fit into a few bits at moment due to flab.

I am giving up food and feel the tum reducing, so should be able to do up zips etc again soon.

any ideas?

Am I a lost cause then?

My sister had a gastric band -- good luck with the process.

If I were you I would get 2-3 outfits for the current season -- let's skip ahead to spring and accessorize differently and get new clothes in the summer.

I believe in dressing for your shape and emphasing the good bits. There are lots of resources on the web once you know your shape.

How did your sister get along?

I got my Dds coloured and leopard print skinny jeans recently, I think I am too much of a fatty for them, so didn't get any for myself.

I had a look on the French lady thread and got the following:

Eyebrows
Nails
Hair cut/colour
Liquid eyeliner
Mascara
Foundation
Sunglasses
Scarf
V neck tops
Flat shoes
Comfortable heels
Handbag2handbag, no idea where sells this
Get my colours done

What few spring outfits would you suggest?

I know someone who had a gastric band,it's been tough for her but so worthwhile, she loves her walks now and is loving her new clothing dilemnas,as in she needs new clothes

don't spend to much as you will shrink and spending too much is pointless, keep it for the end when you can splurge,go to charity shops whilst loosing, that's what my friend did,few charity shops bits with some well chosen accessories

agree with above, don't go fo fashion trends, dress for your shape, pick certain fashion trends to tart the outfit up

I have found out like you have from your friend the gastric band is not a magic cure.

I am going to have a pamper tomorrow and get my dd to do me a makeup makeover, see if it helps make me feel a bit better about myself to wear makeup again, and pull out some never worn clothes from the wardrobe etc.
