i picked a tea style dress/tunic for xmas and have worn it with leggings and boots.it is a big step for me as it is quite a bit above the knee and i usually wear long skirts/dresses.

i would really like to get more dresses but i am long in the body and 5ft 8 so find most i try are way too short - also am a curvy/hourglass size 16 so need something a bit flared to cover/hide my hips/bum.

any ideas?

A wrap dress will redefine where your waist is, pulling you into proportion. It will also highlight your hourglass figure. I would recommend heavy jersey fabrics (which will drape over a tummy) and stiffer cottons in an a-line shape from the waist again this shape will balance your figure.

Dorothy Perkins and New Look both have Tall sections (online anyway) that make the dresses a bit more respectable.

I ordered this in black - hasn't arrived yet so I can't comment on how good it is.
