Stripping semi permanent dye - can I? What with?

Natural colour is mousey brown, added a black/blue semi dye on about 10 weeks ago (packet says lasts 24 washes) trouble is I only wash my hair once a week so I'm getting major root regrowth now and am wishing I'd never messed with things!

So I know you can get a stripper to take dye out, but does it work on semis? And will it take me back to mousey brown or will I have to redye over the top in something akin to my natural colour?

And finally, where can I buy such a stripper?!

Thanks ladies!

There is a product called ColourB4, available in Boots (and other chemists I am sure)

It will take the colour out that you put in and should leave you with your natural colour - if you havent been using bleach/hi lift or similar that is!

If you haveto re-colour then leave it a day or so (not sure how long I never read that part properly Shock ) and then do it.

Good luck Grin

Ferris is right, its called Colour B4, it costs about £12 for the Extra Strength one on Boots, but just under a tenner in Sainsburys. I would recommend you use the Extra Strength one as you are trying to remove a black dye.

Its a great product, but time consuming and you have to follow the instructions to the letter, especially the rinsing part, so there's lots of rinsing involved!

It can leave your hair with coppery tones, but if you don't like that you can apply a level 1 colour (8 wash) dye (in an ash/neutral tone) immediately after using Colour B4 to rid any brassiness you don't like, but choose a colour at least 2 shades lighter than you wish to be or you risk going back to being as dark as you were before.

I used Colour B4 about 3 weeks ago and my hair gradually darkened slightly over the weeks, so it does settle down a bit.
