Leggings. I am a novice. Where do you buy nice ones?

I am finally bringing myself round to the idea of being able to wear leggings. Have been reluctant due to post-3-babies figure not ideal for anything with elasticated waist.
Where do you advise to get ones that keep their stretch (and ideally give me a flat tummy Smile...)?
thank you for help!

Mint Velvet. Amazing leggings with a panel at the top you can wear flat or fold over. Never need to hoik them up, nice thick cotton too. 20% off code atm too from Red magazine. You just use code RED

I have a pair I bought from Pineapple over 3 years ago, still lasting me really well :)

tethersend · 08/02/2012 15:54

At the oxymoron shop.

Cherrypie32 · 08/02/2012 16:06

Just bought perfectly passable pack of two, one navy, one black at Sainsburys. £12 I think.

WantToMoveNorth · 08/02/2012 16:09

I just bought some high waisted control ones from Next. I think they are amazing! I had a baby 11 months ago, and still have lots of bulges but these really smooth me out. I also bought the control vests, but dont think these are as good.

Select. Really cheap at 2 for £8 but much better than more expensive leggings I have had previously.

mybabywakesupsinging · 08/02/2012 16:18

Thank you. Any high street suggestions?

Confused Next, Select, Sainsburys ...

ChiefPotterer · 08/02/2012 17:19

I actually really like the primark ones £6 for 2 pairs-they last really well are a good length and not see through.

American apparel are great, bit priceier than average but go the distance!

BobbinRobin · 08/02/2012 17:32

New Look usually have loads, variable quality but I've had some okay pairs from there.

M&S's current lot aren't too bad.

mamalovesmojitos · 09/02/2012 09:25

I haven't tried them personally but have been researching and American apparel get rave reviews. Sold on asos. I like the sound of the next tummy control ones though. Is the waist high?

mybabywakesupsinging · 09/02/2012 13:01

sorry about earlier, think the page hadn't refreshed or something.
Lots of good places to try here, thank you all.
I am very keen indeed on not see-through.
I like the sound of Next ones.
Tethers I know what you mean but I think I really need to try...
I will be wearing with extremely long jumpers/dresses. Possibly under trousers this weather...

I find the next ones really see through, no matter what size. I got Boden ones. They are amazing.

SilkandSteel · 09/02/2012 17:41

I bought two pairs of black leggings for £10 in Sainsburys last week, and they are they are as good, if not better, than the ones I have from Next costing £8 a pair

mycatsaysach · 09/02/2012 17:46

RedwingWinter · 09/02/2012 18:36

Depends what type you want.

Topshop do fab long length stretchy ones in black or navy that wash well and last for ages.

I love Primark control leggings. They last ages (I have some that are 2 yrs old and still in good nick) and are more like thick footless tights.

I also like the thick leggings from H&M in black or grey. They are like a cross between leggings and treggings. hard to explain, but the material is heavier and warmer.
