Has anybody been tempted by their charms? I have the Clinique one and the Estee Lauder. I think as with most things the amount you use is critical. Taking some getting used to, but will stick with it for a while.

I'd use it with moisturiser MonaLotte as its oil free and I personally dont find it moisturising enough on its own

BreakOutTheKaraoke · 30/05/2012 17:14

I like the Garnier one! I have adult acne, but its not too bad at the minute, and this doesn't break me out. I actually find it very similar to Clinique anti-redness foundation, but a bit better for me as if I ever forget to wash it off on the night, my skin doesn't feel awful the next day.

MonaLotte · 30/05/2012 17:55

Thanks Pinkglow I need oil free as I have spot prone skin so will try it with my EL oil free daywear moisturiser :)

minipie · 30/05/2012 17:59

I like the Garnier one too (also have acne and I use the one for oily skin). I find it really helps disguise all the bumps. Maybe it's best for acne prone/oily skins?

Will have a look at the No 17 one and the Estee lauder one though after all these tips.

anniewoo · 30/05/2012 19:00

I really like the tester pot of estee lauder i got at the counter. Will buy when my bobi brown moisture balm runs out

janmoomoo · 30/05/2012 19:27

I really like the Garnier BB cream. But I have quite golden/orangey colouring ie redish brown hair and green eyes. Colour suits me, and I like the consistency as I have quite dry skin now I am a bit ..ahem, older. Its good for me, better than the Laura Mercier watery stuff I was using before at three times the price IMHO.

PrematurelyAirconditioned · 30/05/2012 19:29

I like the garnier - I wear it over moisturiser.

musttidyupmusttidyup · 30/05/2012 20:10

Love the garnier one. Put it on top of a moisteriser& serum - Jude the Olay one. About 5 mins after is perfect.

walnutwhip · 30/05/2012 20:13

I quite liked the Garnier one but I have just discovered the Maybelline one, and it's fantastic. Just the right consistency and my skin seems to stay looking nice all day even in this weather. It was on 3 for 2 when I bought it, I'm going to stock up. I got the light one and it's just right for my pale skin.

musttidyupmusttidyup · 30/05/2012 20:13

Jude? WTF? I use

AuntieMaggie · 30/05/2012 20:29

I tried the garnier one and although it was good coverage it wasnt great on my oily skin - same with no7 one for oily skin

The EL one smells like cucumber and is more matte but very light at the same time. I didnt use moisturiser when i wore it at the weekend in 30 degree heat but may on cooler days.

BorisJohnsonsHair · 31/05/2012 12:04

Has anyone tried the L'Oreal one? On offer for £7.99 at my local independent chemist.

BorisJohnsonsHair · 31/05/2012 12:08

BTW I have dry skin, so can anyone recommend what might be best for that? It's sounding like Garnier, although I don't fancy being orange

CutItOutAndRestart · 31/05/2012 13:09

I cracked and got the no7 one while waiting for my Korean one to arrive. The girl who sold it to me reassured me it works well on pale skin despite the tester looking too dark.

it was ok but not a patch on the Korean one I have on today. I opted for the moisture version as my skin is dry due to all the recent peeling and retinol cream.

now I just have to work out how to buy this stuff in bulk without getting stung on customs etc as I can't see me wearing anything else ever again Grin

BobbieSox · 05/06/2012 20:07

I've now tried the Garnier one and it gave me spots - I have fairly dry skin normally so not impressed! Smelled nice though.

QuinnFabray · 05/06/2012 20:23

I've bought in bulk from Korea on four seperate occasions, and never been stung by customs.

The Korean BB creams are on the whole so much better than any Western BB cream I've tried, but even they vary a lot, and different ones are suited to different skin types. There is a wealth of reviews and information though.

My favourites are Missha and Lioele, both bought from eBay ( belo-girl from uk eBay, and cosmetic-love from german eBay ). Fairly inexpensive too.

cocolepew · 05/06/2012 20:27

I've only ever used the Garnier one. I use it when I have a bit of a tan. I really like it.

BornToFolk · 05/06/2012 20:29

I have the no 17 one but I'm not keen. It's not moisturizing enough for a moisturizer but the coverage is not good enough for foundation. So I end up wearing moisturizer, BB cream plus mineral foundation, then looking like I'm wearing too much make up. It's totally pointless.

MerylStrop · 05/06/2012 20:58

I really like the 17 one. Well priced and great for my pale skintone, nice dewy effect.

seabuckthorn · 05/06/2012 21:32

I like the garner one but I do have dry skin.
I use it with their undereye roll on.
I use some transulcent powder on top with a bit of blush.
Done.
Coverage is quite light don't be fooled into thinking otherwise.

SkinnyVanillaLatte · 05/06/2012 21:36

I like the garnier one.I have dry sensitized skin.

I use the medium and it's good on me allough I thought I was quite pale skinned.

I don't find it orangey at all.

minipie · 06/06/2012 14:11

Ok, experts - if I like the Garnier one (the one for oily skin) but find it a bit too orange, can you recommend one that would work for me?

JoannaFight · 06/06/2012 14:21

Oh dear I couldn't get along with the Garnier one at all. I'm fairish skinned, not as pale as I used to be but still quite pale nonetheless.

I got the lighter one and it was still very orange. And horribly greasy too. I looked awful; like I'd been embalmed in oily Tango.

My mum loves it though and has none of these problems with it. It was because she was praising it so much that I bought some. I ended up giving mine to herHmm.

The best thing I've bought lately is the new Clinique Stay Matte Oil Free Foundation. That is brilliant imho.

minipie · 06/06/2012 14:23

joanna I found the "normal" garnier one very greasy too, but they do a version for oily skin which is much drier. Now if only they could fix the colour...

What colour do you have in the Clinique foundation?

JoannaFight · 06/06/2012 14:28

I've got the Neutral one (no9). There are quite a few shades to choose from. It's not a BB cream though. Coverage is light in consistency but it still covers well iyswim. And stays put beautifully.
