LibertyGrace never spent this much on a jacket before, wondering about sizing...and length. I am a bit bigger than a 10, but smaller than a 12, so not sure which way to go.

Go for the one you liked first. Try and find a local stockist and try some on. I thought i would go for a longer length Barbour but on trying on I found I preferred the more fitted kind.
The coat will last for a long time and will stand the test of the elements so worth it from that pint of view.
North face are great for more outdoorsy styling and a bigger range but are the ubiquitous mums school run coat.
And if you look stylish after walking the dog in the rain or snow then I'm not sure where I'm going wrong. I normally look very windswept even with a hat or hood and muddy up to my knees. Usually a few paw prints due to my over friendly Labrador who likes to thank me for throwing the ball by jumping up at me

I have it in olive abd it's fab but you need size bigger than normal

My Barbour is ugly but it's big enough to put layers on underneath. TBH because it's waxed, the wind doesn't come in and neither does the rain. I fully expect to still be wearing it when I'm 60
