What is the ultimate perfect stuff to put in my bath?

SilentBoob · 05/02/2012 03:50

I AM MUMSNETTING IN THE BATH!!!

Ahem.

which brings me to ask, for the ultimate bathing experience what should i put in the water?

Is it something cheap and clever like avocado oil? Or something hilariously extravagent and divine? tell me and i will slavishly go and buy it before my next bath.

This is fabulous - it's so thick you virtually need a spoon to get it out of the container, but a little goes a long way so it's worth the silly money.

Karma bubble bars from Lush are good - and unlike bath bombs you can break them up so they go a bit further.

This is nice too, and actually more relaxing than anything! Grin

SilentBoob · 05/02/2012 10:48

I am now out of the bath and Mumsnetting in the sitting room.

That second link doesn't work, but the 1st one looks good. Thank you!

If you want to spend silly money, Ren Morrocan Rose Otto bath oil is gorgeous. Be warned though it will ruin you for anything else.
Alternatively just get a few essential oils and blend your own.

BettyBathroom · 05/02/2012 11:22

Jo Malone Nutmeg & Ginger Bath Oil.

SilentBoob · 05/02/2012 11:24

Radox? RADOX? The packet of scratchy powder my Grandad uses when he "goes to soak... well...y'know... goes for a soak" ?? NO! That's not perfect. And it smells of aeroplane toilets.

And Malmaison bath oil no longer in production? Am I NEVER to have a perfect bath?

Now that Ren stuff looks more like it! It's £45 a go! Ha ha ha ha - I want it!

SilentBoob · 05/02/2012 11:27

I can't go in to Jo Malone. It makes me feel too sad that I can't ever have one of her poncy overpriced candles because I am physically incapable of spending that much one one and my guilt and self loathing propels me out of the shop before I get a chance to buy anything.

The Ren rose oil is gorgeous. You only need a couple of capfuls so it does last reasonably well. It makes the whole of the bathroom smell like Turkish Delight.

SilentBoob · 05/02/2012 12:17

It sounds as though it deserves a <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=bathroom+with+a+view&um=1&hl=en&biw=1280&bih=685&tbm=isch&tbnid=reeGjrqva7z7eM:&imgrefurl=www.luxurytravelmagazine.com/news-articles/brazils-ponta-dos-ganchos-awarded-coolest-bathrooms-in-the-world-16203.php&docid=0LwewLtdgv323M&imgurl=www.luxurytravelmagazine.com/images/article/Latin_America/Brazil/Ponta-dos-Ganchos-bathroom.jpg&w=650&h=366&ei=InIuT9POEIaimQWqlPXSDw&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=375&vpy=145&dur=15&hovh=168&hovw=299&tx=168&ty=120&sig=102858666797167429664&page=2&tbnh=110&tbnw=195&start=15&ndsp=20&ved=1t:429,r:16,s:15" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">bathroom like this.

Mine has rather more emphasis on bath toys and Johnsons No More Tears.

I second Ren Rose oil - heavenly!

SilverSixpence · 05/02/2012 12:57

Laura Mercier Creme Brulee Honey Bath. Smells delicious but price is a bit daft!

BobbinRobin · 05/02/2012 14:49

Weleda Chestnut Toning Bath doesn't sound particularly promising but it's bloody gorgeous - a light aromatic, slightly woody smell. Lovely for winter and summer and hangovers .

And it miraculously tones you up while you bathe ( it doesn't really ). What's not to like?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 05/02/2012 15:28

Ooh I like the sound of that Weleda one - can you buy it in store anywhere or only online?

I like Badedas horse chestnut too.

I also like Molton Brown eucalyptus and MB black pepper and also pink peppercorn but they are stupidly expensive.

SilentBoob · 05/02/2012 15:36

Just to check, I expect a lot from the perfect bath unguent - it must smell delicious, not leave the bath a mess, make my skin moisturised and possibly do the washing up while I'm soaking.

FriskyMare · 05/02/2012 15:41

L'occitane rose is gorgeous as is the shea milk bath.
Quite fancy giving the Ren one a try tho.
SilentBoob why were you in the bath at 3.50 amConfused

seeker · 05/02/2012 15:42
BobbinRobin · 05/02/2012 15:44

Remus - there's a store locator on the Weleda home page (scroll down)

Weleda

Weleda tends to be stocked by independent chemists rather than the big chains ime, but the locator should tell you more.

Millie1 · 05/02/2012 15:53

Oooh great thread especially as I have been pondering the same question of late! Am running out of a £41-odd bottle of Molton Brown bubble bath - a gift! I also want something that won't leave the bath slippy and manky, which smells nice and, here's the big one, is a soap replacement! Does it exist?

PerryCombover · 05/02/2012 15:58

ren rose otto bath oil

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 05/02/2012 16:11

Thanks Robin.

wandawings · 05/02/2012 21:04
